Buying a mini-fridge for peps?

I'm planning on starting sema soon, but I have storage worries. I know the powders need freezer storage and the mixed stuff needs fridge storage. Problem is, I live with folks who are... not understanding. I was browsing for a small fridge/freezer unit on that big website, something affordable. Are these things reliable enough? Any specific temp requirements for proper freezer storage? I saw some reviews saying some units barely freeze ice cream. I imagine the fridge part should work fine.

I'm in a similar boat, needing something tiny. I got a Whynter 1.1 cu ft freezer from that online retailer for around $120. With old-school dial thermometers, it holds around -11°F consistently. Considering I'll only have a year or two's worth of peptides, that's good enough. I just date everything and use the oldest supplies first. It uses very little power and sits on my dresser. Plus, it has a locking mechanism—just an Allen key, but it should work against casual access.

Thanks for the temperature and storage length info, I will look into the one you mentioned. I'm not planning on using sema for too long anyway (probably stopping after I reach my goal weight). I already have a small beverage fridge, so I'll check its temp and maybe just get a freezer.

I have one of those small freezers, it stays around -22C (give or take a degree) and has a lock. I keep it in my garage, but I only got it last fall so I'm wondering how it'll handle the Texas summer since my garage can get crazy hot. I put a temp sensor inside for alerts on my phone if it gets too warm.

A question for the group -- Is it safe to store lyophilized peptides inside a hydroflask with desiccant packets inside the freezer, or would it need an ice pack inside the flask too?

My understanding is that using a hydroflask is to minimize temp fluctuations. I don't do it personally, but it seems like a reasonable precaution to safeguard your supply. I don’t think an ice pack inside is needed. I've seen vial holders for flasks on Etsy.

My issue with using a flask is that it sometimes needs some defrosting to open, and I've read that you should minimize repeated freeze/thaw cycles. The sometimes-stuck lid just seemed counterproductive since it needed to warm up a bit to open. If you know you won't open it for a while, it's probably fine, but I prefer something more accessible for the ones I'll need sooner. Just my experience.

Okay, so while lower temps are better, it's not a huge deal. Tirz, especially, is pretty durable. We tested freeze-dried tirz kept in a closet for 18 months, and it was still usable. We also tested mixed tirz in a closet for 60 days, and it was still 97.8% effective. Ideally, freeze-dried stuff should be frozen, and mixed stuff should be refrigerated. But if you can't do that, it'll probably be okay.

Most of us probably have multiple different peptides, so it's safer to be cautious with all of them instead of assuming they're all as resilient as tirz. I left my tesa cart out of the fridge for only 10 hours last week, and it went bad; it separated. So, while tirz might be bulletproof, lots of other peptides are much more sensitive, and not just to temperature – watch out for UV light too.

It's interesting how GLP-1s affect the body beyond just blood sugar and weight loss. I saw that a urologist, Dr. Mehan, discussed how Ozempic can affect sexual function, specifically ED. Seems there's a connection, though I haven't looked into the details. Something to be aware of, I guess.

Following up on SnackNoMore's comment regarding GLP-1s affecting sexual function: it's important to note that rapid weight loss in general, regardless of the method, can sometimes impact libido and hormone levels. another forum provides additional insights from a men's health perspective.

That makes sense. From what I've read, the body can perceive a large calorie deficit as a famine or survival situation, and that can reduce libido and testosterone, which isn't exactly ideal.
