Okay, I'm mortified but need help. I have IBS-D, so usually fiber sends me running to the bathroom, not the other way around. I'm about to do my fourth .25mg injection, and this week? Forget about it. I was literally sobbing on the floor trying to dislodge... well, you get the picture. Worse than after childbirth, seriously! I take a multivitamin, fish oil, and some psyllium husk. Yesterday was broccoli, the day before a big salad. Usually, those would cause issues, but nope. Are the fiber supplements making things worse? Any suggestions?

Dude, I feel your pain! Since starting this, my gut has been a disaster zone. Here's what I've learned:

* Walk after meals. Seriously, even 5-10 mins makes a difference.
* Osmotic vs. stimulant laxatives are very different. Osmotics (like Milk of Magnesia) pull water IN. Stimulants make your bowels contract. You need the water first!
* Don't wait too long! Go after a day or two of discomfort, not when you're in agony.
* Fiber is tricky. Too much soluble fiber can backfire. Try different kinds or mix 'em up.
* Miralax with apple or prune juice is your friend early on. It's gentle and some folks take it daily. (Talk to your doc, obv).
* Magnesium citrate pills or Miralax chews are a bit stronger.
* Milk of Magnesia will get things moving, but drink tons of water.
* Suppositories or enemas soften things locally.
* Magnesium citrate drink or senna pills are your last resort. They're intense!

I also have IBS-D, and Miralax has been a lifesaver for the constipation. I put a scoop in my morning coffee, and everything's usually moving by lunchtime.

I take a gentle stool softener every single day. I also had the constipation thing happen after a lifetime of the opposite problem. I've only been impacted twice (knock on wood). The first time was early on, and it was a VERY painful reminder to stay hydrated!

Impacted is when you have hard stuff you can't get out. For quick relief, try saline and mineral oil enemas—one saline, then mineral oil if needed. Keep spares at home!

A daily Miralax dose helps; if not, consider Mag07. I take two capsules at night for gentle relief. This reduces my need for daily Miralax.

Once cleared, maintain daily regularity proactively. Fiber supplements can be tough, especially with IBS.

I take magnesium citrate at bedtime. It's been the best solution for me. I didn't want to keep relying on Miralax or other stimulant meds.

These meds really slow down your digestive system, and your colon pulls out more water. Perhaps a lower dose could help? I take psyllium, magnesium, triphala, and drink a ton of water. My first drink has electrolytes because I get dehydrated easily. I don't always go every day, but usually first thing in the morning. Yesterday I had an unusual lunch (hash browns and vegan biscuits and gravy) and felt sick within two hours. I always forget too much fat messes me up. A yogurt and banana in the morning, nuts for a snack, and steel-cut oats with berries and full-fat soy milk help my gallbladder, but too much will cause issues. The triphala is gentle—three Ayurvedic fibrous things with some herbal gut effects. It's way better than Reglan or senna for me.

Add stool softeners to your med/vitamin schedule daily. I still only go every couple days but its better than before. I take 1 in the morning and 1 at night and it keeps things moving alright!

I've noticed that I feel kinda sick if I overeat now. Like, real stomach bug symptoms sometimes. Anyone else experience that?

YES! It's like my body is punishing me for eating too much. I definitely have to be more mindful of portion sizes now.
