Cheaper Tirz in CA?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Community vetting is the reliable filter before committing to any compounding route. The cost gap is real but quality varies enough that source matters more than the price difference.

Fewer human studies is the real trade-off - similar pharmacology doesn't equal equivalent safety data.

Compounded tirz pricing varies by provider - the $160 range is realistic but cost per week depends on concentration and dose. Pharmacy route is pricier but has quality verification.

the 4-week starter at 2.5 then up to 5 pattern follows the manufacturer's titration schedule, which exists to let the GI system adapt before hitting the effective dose range. most people find 5 is where the appetite suppression becomes consistent and where results start moving meaningfully. staying there rather than escalating further is the right call unless a real stall hits

So sorry you're dealing with this.

It won't run nearly as cheap as things were back when your plan was footing the bill, but it might be worth looking into a compounded version of the dual-action medication through a licensed compounding pharmacy. There are online communities where people share which providers they trust and recommend.

You might be able to land something around $150 monthly through one of those. Could your family help chip in on that?

My sister ended up going the same route for her tirz supply. Cost a bit more than she expected, but still landed way under what the pharmacy near us charges.

Yeah, I've got the top-tier BCBS plan and it's honestly useless. Don't even bother using it anymore, my doctor doesn't accept it, and leaving it unused just keeps more cash in my pocket. Only keeping it around in case something serious happens. Otherwise it feels like a total waste and a scam. Paying $250 out of pocket monthly for compounded Tirz instead.

You're just being paranoid. Compounded tirzepatide most people get comes from legit pharmacies. 503a's are inspected by the states and follow state rules, 503b's fall under federal inspection and regulations. I'm 72 with multiple serious medical issues, and it was my PCP who recommended the compounded route since I needed to shed weight and couldn't afford Lilly's prices. Plenty of us trust the same pharmacies and telehealth services. If you'd rather pay 3X or 4X for the same meds we get, good for you. Short version of my story: 72F 5'5", started at 243.1, now 152, goal 150, on 11mg. I began 10 months ago in Sept 2025 and lost over 90 lbs, all on compounded tirzepatide. Best wishes.
