Cleaning before shots: yay or nay?

Hi everyone,

I'm on a couple of injectable meds. One of them, not Zepbound, includes alcohol prep pads to clean the injection site before each dose. The directions say to use them. However, the Zepbound instructions don't mention using alcohol at all. I wonder why there's a difference?

Alcohol swabs are so inexpensive; I can't imagine why you wouldn't use them every time you inject anything. Just seems like common sense.

Me too! I came here expecting to hear about cocktails... though my interest in them has dropped off lately.

I started semaglutide partly because I read it could help curb alcohol cravings. I used to have a few drinks every night for years and couldn't seem to quit. Now, I just don't want it anymore. It's like a switch flipped. Wonder if anyone else has experienced that?

Wow, that's amazing! I didn't know it could do that!

I've definitely cut back on drinking without even trying. Used to drink 4-5 beers a night, now if I have one or two, I'm good. It's kind of wild.

It is amazing how it impacts cravings, isn’t it? I've also found I impulse shop a lot less now. I think I'm generally less focused on seeking that immediate pleasure hit.

studies show tirzepatide has benefits beyond weight loss for blood sugars, heart attacks, heart failure, kidney and stroke. not saying I understand the math but the extra effects on top of the weight loss are real.

started wegovy, didn't work—appetite killed only 2-3 days after injection, rough nausea. switched to mounjaro after 4 months. game changer. i'm obsessed. way fewer side effects, works all week.
