Clothing store recs?

After being over 250 lbs for many years (and now closer to 160), I appreciated Lane Bryant since they carried plus sizes that didn't seem matronly. Now that I've dropped nearly 100 pounds, shopping there isn't an option any longer.

Since I'm moving into a maintenance phase, I want to start thinking about a core wardrobe rather than just buying a few pieces as I size down. I also need help relearning how to dress for my current size and would love to find some stylish clothes that reflect my progress. I'd prefer to invest in higher-quality items over trendy fast fashion.

So... Where do you all shop for fashionable clothes that fit your current body?

Online consignment shops, and occasionally department stores, and direct from European brands. Enjoy the journey! Last year I refreshed most of my wardrobe, from shoes to a watch.

Congrats on your progress! I love online sales, so I rarely pay full price. I prefer sites that have physical stores for easy returns. For athletic, work, and casual wear, I like Old Navy, Athleta, warehouse clubs, Nordstrom Rack, Lululemon, American Eagle, Macy's, WHBM, and Amazon. Shopping is actually fun now!

First, congrats on the changes. Dropping that much weight is awesome, and it's perfectly normal to feel a bit lost when it comes to style.

Many people gravitate toward quality basics from brands like Everlane, Madewell, Uniqlo, or Abercrombie to find their new fit. These brands are popular due to their reliable staples like jeans, sweaters, and pants that last longer than fast fashion.

While your size is still fluctuating, renting clothes helped me avoid buying everything at once. I use a rental service that lets you try different styles and sizes to experiment without committing to a whole new wardrobe. They also offer personal styling, which is helpful for rebuilding your style. Anyone else try that sort of thing?

I hear you about the face changes! I'm 61, and I've noticed that now that I've lost the weight, my wrinkles are more noticeable. I'm trying to embrace it, though. I feel great!

Important reminder: Weight loss impacts bone density! Consider adding a second day of strength training to your routine, if you can. It's great for your bones!

Love this thread. I'm 10 weeks in and hit my first goal weight too. Tapering off now to try to make it stick. The key seems to be eating right once appetite comes back. Insulin sensitivity off the medication is everything. What dose are you running?
