Cloudy Reta - normal?

Hey everyone,

So, I mixed up 20mg of reta with 2ml of bac water I got online last Saturday – it was my very first try. I followed the instructions (let the powder warm up, used alcohol wipes, put the bac water in carefully), and it looked perfect, totally clear.

Fast forward a week, and I take it out of the fridge (around 37F), and it's cloudy. I did some searching online and used an AI bot, and it cleared up in like 15 minutes. I injected a 2mg dose and felt no weird effects.

Some people online said it's just "cold-induced protein aggregation" or something related to solubility at low temps.

BTW, I told the vendor, and they're sending a new vial with Hospira bac water.

So, does anyone else's Reta get cloudy when cold and then clears up at room temp?

Never seen that. Sometimes I get condensation on the vial, which might look cloudy until I wipe it.

I heard about someone who mixed a new vial of Reta with bac water (factory sealed) at room temp, and it was cloudy. Is that normal or safe? Another vial from the same batch mixed with Hospira bac water was fine.

Last week, I lowered the temp in my fridge, and some of my peptides got kinda "thick." Not cloudy or frozen, but like a gel. They went back to normal when I took them out.

Yeah, it's a bit odd since it was my first time. A little concerning, but I'm learning. If I screwed up, I can't see what I did wrong.

Lots of people here say their stuff mixes clear.

The vendor is shipping a replacement and even threw in Hospira bac water.

I'm still pretty new to all this.

If I had a bunch of these 20mg vials, I'd try again. Since I don't, and I had no side effects, I'll move on.

I'll definitely toss it if it stays cloudy after warming up.

Also, I read that using too much powder with too little bac water can cause this. I've heard the ratio is 1 mg to 1 mL. Does anyone know if too much powder and too little water is a problem?

The 1mg:1mL thing isn’t a hard rule. It’s just a very dilute benchmark. Many use 5–10mg/mL without issues. The important thing is that it re-dissolves completely.

To reduce the chance of it happening again, try using 2–3mL next time to slightly lower the concentration.

Thanks! I was thinking about adding more Bac next time I mix. Quick update: it stayed cloudy when we got it out on Monday, so we tossed it.

Most of the time, these issues come from the vendor's bac water.

Just more stories: I'm using vial number 7, mixed to 10mg/ml, kept around 30*F. Never a cloudy vial.

Some think Hospira isn't needed for GLP-1s and that "lesser" bac water is fine.

Vendor bac water is likely the issue. Is it the quality of the water itself? Like, is it contaminated or does it have the wrong pH?

I'm switching to Hospira from now on.

Has anyone seen Janoshik's takes on this? His real name is Peter Magic!

He answers these questions:
Q: Is Bac water required for peptides?
A: I only use saline for injection. BAC water isn't used in Europe.
Q: Saline or Bacteriostatic water?
A: I think saline is best. Bacteriostatic water slows bacteria, but bacteria can eat peptides.
Q: Will I ruin my peptides with sterile water vs BAC water?
A: If you don't get injection site issues, it doesn't matter.
Q: Saline for multi-use vials?
A: I've gone a month and a half with MelanotanII.

Yeah, I know lots of folks are fine using vendor BAC, but spend any time on these forums, and you'll see that 99% of these problems are from vendor BAC.

I don't know what the deal is, and I'm betting people aren't testing their vendor BAC (which makes sense). The few results we've seen were pretty bad, but that's probably confirmation bias. I'm guessing it's a pH thing.

Most of us have seen Peter Magic's interviews. I don't disagree with using sterile water, but if you're in the US with easy access to Hospira, why not use it? Especially if you're poking the vial multiple times and keeping it for weeks. I don't like his last point. Why risk it? I get that it's harder to get in the EU.

I'm pretty new to peptides. I'm actually using them with TRT, my doc suggested GHRP 2, 6, and Sermorelin since I'm not seeing major body changes even with good diet and exercise. He's giving it to me at cost, so I figured I'd try it, but I'm a little skeptical since I hear the results are gradual.

Are you sure your T dose is optimized? What are your levels? Peptides can be underwhelming compared to dialing in your TRT protocol.
