Crushing it! Down 70lbs, holy moly!

Hey everyone! Some of you might remember my earlier thread: another forum

Just wanted to share an update. I've managed to drop another 30lbs! I'm only about 10lbs away from my original goal weight (240), but honestly, looking in the mirror, I think I want to lose even more. Maybe shoot for 220 or even less.

My upper arms are looking much more defined since I used to lift weights pretty regularly. I'd love to post some before-and-after pics, but unfortunately, I don't have a 'before' shot of my bicep. I will share my Renpho scale results, though.

Weight loss stalled for me around the 60lb mark, but I've finally broken through it. I was on 6mg during the plateau. Now I'm in week 3 of 8mg, feeling much better, and I'm down another 11lbs. Weighed in at 249 this morning.

That's truly incredible! 70 lbs is like losing a small kid! I bet your life got a lot better. I just wanted to ask, and please don't take this the wrong way, but are you at all concerned about losing the weight so quickly? I realize everyone's different, but I like to get input from others in different stages of weight loss. Congrats again!

I love seeing other people succeeding, it helps me keep going! Congrats!

If you don't mind me asking, how's your skin holding up with the rapid weight loss? I'm starting to see some loose skin myself and I am hoping it tightens back up as I lose more.

Okay, I'm gonna be real with you, Mike - based on your older post, you're going about this the wrong way. "2 rolls at Texas Roadhouse, 2 sweet teas..." You've gotta stop eating junk. Retatrutide is just a helper to reshape your habits. It's not magic. You'll gain it all back if you quit Retatrutide and don't improve your food choices and concentrate on healthy eating.

If I were you, I'd slow down...a lot. I can't imagine you won't have issues with saggy skin at that speed. Eat protein-rich foods and do resistance training! Stop eating garbage. Congrats on the progress, but be careful!

It's not just loose skin! I dropped 40 lbs in 2 months, and in the second month, it messed up my gallbladder. Had to cut out all fats because I'm in pain otherwise, not even yogurt or milk. Just got a HIDA scan yesterday to see what's up with my gallbladder. I never had issues until I lost all that weight super fast. I did eat a crazy amount of dairy back then, dairy-free and feeling better now. Surprised I don't miss it!

I was talking to a lady the other day whose bilirubin levels are super high. She lost like, 30 lbs in a month and a half. Way too fast, not sustainable, and honestly dangerous.

I just love when people toss out the "you're doing it wrong" speech after seeing my amazing results. And I also love when you assume I've been pigging out since I began treatment based on one meal I mentioned.

Anyway, I was eating under 1000 calories for around 3 months. I'm about to post another update.

I've stopped taking Reta like 4-5 weeks ago and only gained back a healthy 5lbs. I even tried eating more to get my metabolism going again, but it's been really hard to go back to my old eating habits, which is great.

It's definitely a silver bullet. And my lifestyle changed because of Reta.

I do appreciate your concern though. I'll let the results speak for themselves. I've also been seeing my doctor.

Hmmmmm🤔🤔🤔. You forgot to include your most recent post where you talked about blacking out, and hypoglycemia episodes...
"hardly eating for about 4 months, my metabolism was struggling. I also started to have fainting spells which I thought was from my blood pressure being low but it was actually my blood sugar. While I was on Reta, I cancelled my gym membership because I didn’t have any energy because of lack of nutrition. My workouts felt very half assed."

This is exactly the kind of thing people are worried about.

Okay, so I dropped 70lbs and now I’m fixing things and gonna lose the other 40. If I'm still alive, and my doctor is watching me, I'm going to keep losing weight and moving forward.

Why walk 1 mile, when you can walk 2?
Why eat 1800 calories, when you can eat 1600?
Why eat that pizza when you can eat a salad?

We're all different. To each their own. You can always improve.

I think the rate of weight loss is something to be concerned about. I'm a nurse and I've seen people end up with serious electrolyte imbalances and even cardiac issues from dropping weight too rapidly. It puts a huge strain on the body.

I agree with New_Gang. Rapid weight loss can definitely have negative consequences. It's best to consult with a doctor or registered dietitian to ensure you're losing weight safely and sustainably.

Has anyone noticed less joint pain after losing weight? I've lost about 15 pounds and my knees feel so much better!

Oh absolutely! As a medical professional, I can confirm that even a small amount of weight loss can significantly reduce joint pain and inflammation. Keep up the great work!
