Okay, so I'm probably gonna get yelled at for this, but I'm hoping someone can at least learn from my mistakes... or tell me I'm not completely insane. I'm located in Europe and getting bacteriostatic water is nearly impossible without some serious paperwork and a business license. Buying it from shady online sources sketched me out, so I tried to make my own.
Here's what I used:
* Sterile water (NOT distilled, look for "for irrigation" or "for respiratory therapy") - bought online from a pharmacy
* Benzyl alcohol - snagged from an auction site
Tools:
* Sterile 10ml vials
* 10ml syringes
* 1ml syringes
* 0.2 micron syringe filters
* pH test strips (optional)
Basically, I filtered the benzyl alcohol, then mixed 0.09ml of it with 9.9ml of the sterile water in a fresh vial. Tossed the leftover sterile water after (since it's now contaminated). I've been using it for about a month, and so far, so good – no stinging or anything. But yeah, tell me how dumb this is lol.
