Done already?

That's incredible and probably hard to believe. You should be super proud of your achievement!

I went from 315 lbs to around 160 lbs and swore I'd never consider cosmetic surgery. But I ended up getting a body contouring consultation out of curiosity. I asked the surgeon how much more weight I should lose and how long I needed to maintain my current weight. He said I needed to be kinder to myself and that there was nothing left to lose, just excess skin.

I was shocked and didn't really believe it, so I got another opinion. Same conclusion.

Then I spent about a week processing it all. I saw my first nutritionist when I was 10 – it's been a battle for over 3 decades. It took a few days to sink in, freak out a little, and then finally celebrate. Yes, you're done. Now you get to decide where to focus your mental energy.

I'm on the highest dose of Mounjaro, and I need it just to stay where I am. There's no such thing as being "done."

That's not really how these medications work. It is usually intended as a long-term therapy, unless you're okay with potentially regaining the weight in the future...

I agree with maintaining with a lower dose. I gained back 25 of the 40 pounds I initially lost, which is why I'm back on glp-1s now.

Huge congrats on shedding 160lbs. Hearing those words, “you’re done,” from a doctor after struggling with your weight must feel strange. Seeing your collarbone is a testament to your hard work. You deserve to feel proud.

I love that feeling! I've gone from around 305 to 185, and it's the little things and non-scale victories that mean so much as I get closer to my goal. Like seeing a thigh gap, discovering my collarbone, and finding clothes that fit great. Awesome job!

That's amazing, congratulations! I asked my doctor and a couple of pharmacists and they claimed there's no evidence that microdosing works, but it seems to for me! I'd try a low dose before stopping completely, just so you don't gain it all back. If you want to try a half dose of 0.25, that's about 10 clicks on the pen.

I'm starting to wonder if strength training might be key for me. I've seen some people say they lift 4x a week while tapering down. It's great to hear the sugar cravings diminish too.

Lost plenty so far but that voice in my head still whispers I might slip back like before. What's different this time? The medication, sure, but also how I feel after hitting the course. That discipline sticks with you.
