Hey y'all! Long time no post, but I wanted to update on my weight loss journey, especially since reading similar success stories really motivated me when I first started. It's been nearly a year since my last update. :)

My stats:

- Height: 5'2" / 157 cm
- Age: 28
- Starting weight: ~230 lbs / 104.4 kg (Sept 2024)
- Current weight: 145.5-149 lbs / 66-68 kg
- Lowest weight: 139 lbs / 63.5 kg after a bout of sickness (not counting it officially, but worth mentioning, haha)

So, the big news is I'm taking a break from Mounjaro. After a year on it, I've decided to pause. I've used 2.5, 5, 7.5, and 10 mg doses during the year. The main reason for stopping is to see if I can keep the weight off and maintain my healthy habits without medication. I have an appointment with my endo in February and want to share how my body reacts to being off MJ while still eating at a deficit. Plus, over the past year, I've built solid habits: healthy eating, daily workouts, and a better understanding of health and nutrition. I'd still like to lose another 22-26 lbs (10-12 kg)!

I've been working out almost every day this past year with walks, Pilates, and weightlifting. On vacation, I even did 25-mile hikes. Since January, I've started running 5Ks consistently, which has me fluctuating between 145-150 lbs due to water retention. The scale is trending up slightly now, but I think it will stabilize as my body adjusts to the running. I'm currently eating around 1600-1750 calories a day, with a TDEE of around 2377.

I'm super thankful for this medication and this community. I really think using it to create lasting habits (instead of relying on it as a magic bullet) was key to my success. Right now, I feel great physically and mentally. I'm strong, eating well, training regularly, and want to see how my body does solo for a bit. I hope I don't need to come back to MJ, but I'm cheering everyone else on in their journeys! Mine is just changing a bit. :)

You look amazing! But be ready, my doc said folks often gain back like 20lbs when they stop. She also said that staying on for 18 months+ can make things go backwards, weight-wise. Just be sure you really wanna stop. If you go back on after being off for 2 weeks+, you gotta restart at 2.5mg. Good luck, hope it works out! You look so good.

Don't panic if the scale goes up a bit. It could just mean that overeating wasn't the only issue. The meds affect more than just appetite. If overeating WAS the root cause, you can definitely manage it with diet and exercise. Best of luck!

Thanks, everyone! Yuki09 I'm a little nervous about the potential weight regain, but I'm hoping my lifestyle changes will help. I appreciate the heads up about restarting at 2.5mg if I go back on. HawkGirl Thanks for the forum recommendation, I'll check it out!

Salad_Dude Glad I could help pep you up!

Congrats! On the weight loss and taking ownership of your body! It will be hard but you already have the foundational changes: eating habits, calorie reduction and strength exercise!
You've got this! Keep motivated with your new bod and lifestyle!
I'd suggest adding HIIT workouts every morning before anything!
You look incredible!

Hey! I’m about your age (30) & in that same weight area - around 225lbs aiming for 155 or even 140 if I can get there. Should I anticipate loose skin? How has your experience been with the body shape transformation?

Pure_Guy421 Hey! Great question! I think everyone's skin elasticity is different, but I've been using lotion religiously and doing a lot of strength training to help. I do have some loose skin, especially around my stomach, but it's not too bad. The shape change has been awesome though, I feel so much more confident!

I agree with ToneLean about not panicking if you gain a little back. It can be discouraging, but it doesn't necessarily mean you're failing. Just keep focusing on those healthy habits you've built!

Wow, what an amazing transformation! I'm so happy for you. I know how hard it is to break past certain weight plateaus. I was stuck in the low 200s for what felt like forever, but sema finally got me below that point. Keep up the great work!

It's so inspiring to hear success stories like yours! I've been feeling a bit discouraged lately because the scale hasn't been moving as quickly as I'd like. But I'm trying to remember that fat loss isn't always linear, and sometimes the scale doesn't reflect the progress we're making. I totally agree that strength training helps a lot with plateaus.
