Don't tell people I'm on a GLP-1 🤪

I've noticed so many unexpected awesome things since I started, besides just dropping pounds! Too bad some haters are missing out. 🤷‍♀️

Might as well throw every medicine that affects brain function in that same bucket:
* Anti-anxiety meds
* Depression meds
* ADHD meds
* Anti-psychotics
* Mood stabilizers

I guess the only acceptable way to deal with brain disorders is to tough it out. Anything else is 'cheating' 🙄

I'm here because my daughter's been on a GLP-1 for a year now. I'm lucky; I only eat when I'm hungry, stop when I'm full, and don't obsess over food. Maintaining a healthy weight has been easy for me. My daughter, though, struggled since she was a toddler. She was always hungry, constantly thinking about food, and never felt satisfied. Despite studying nutrition and being very active, she kept gaining weight. PCOS and insulin resistance made it worse, and she became pre-diabetic. The only way she could lose weight was through extreme dieting and workouts. For years, I wished there was something to shut down the constant hunger, and now there is! It's been a game changer. I know others on semaglutide. One just says she changed her eating habits (after decades of struggling). I can tell she's on it from the weight loss and side effects, but I'd never ask her about it. Others are very open about it. When people say it's the 'easy way out,' I compare it to insulin for diabetics. I respect everyone's choice to disclose or not, but hopefully, as more people understand how it works, there will be more respect.

I guess it's the easy way, lol. My doctor cut one of my blood pressure meds, and my A1C dropped. Whatever, I don't care what people think. I'll be healthy and happy! 😆

I've started just being open about it. When people ask how I did it, I say, 'Wegovy, plus a low-carb diet, no soda, and a calorie deficit.' I've gotten all sorts of reactions!

That's brave! I'm still keeping it under wraps.

My daughter mentioned feeling tired in the first few months, but it got better. She says she's sleeping more, eating more protein, and working out at the gym about 4 times a week. Maybe try that?

I'm really hoping more people can access these meds too. Never want my kids facing the same weight struggles I did. Got my own supply going and figure if any of them want to try a glp down the road, I can help them out.

People really do just ask for advice and then get upset when you give it to them honestly. I stopped trying to sugar coat things after a while because it doesn't help anyone.
