Dose strength vs vial weight - make sense?

Does the quantity of peptide within the vial influence its overall weight? Or is it primarily composed of inactive ingredients?

I'm asking because I acquired a 10mg vial of a compound in September and recently received a 20mg vial. Both underwent lab analysis showing similar purity levels (99.8% vs 99.6%), comparable weights (around 10.2mg vs 10.1mg), and the vial sizes appear virtually identical (see attached image).

Is the 20mg vial genuinely twice as concentrated as the 10mg one? Or did I mistakenly receive two 10mg vials, despite the second being labeled as 20mg?

Are those measures in grams? The active ingredient is measured in milligrams (mg), which is 1/1000th of a gram.

1mg = 0.001g, your scale probably isn't accurate enough to measure that.

Vial weights vary slightly. A 1% difference is good. If vials weigh ~6g, 1% is 60mg.

Stoppers and caps differ too.

10mg is so small, you can't measure it accurately. Most of the powder is excipients. They may use proportional measurements or a fixed amount regardless of peptide amount. Like Just_Mom said, it's mostly filler.

That lab has a reputation for inaccurate results. Check out the European forums for more info.

I'm a bit lost. Are you wondering if a 5mg vial has less stuff in it than a 60mg vial because the vial weights are similar (10.2mg vs 10.1mg)? Or is the lab saying the 20mg vial actually contains 10mg?

It's usually Mannitol filler, which protects the peptide during freezing, etc. Without it, it would look empty. When I buy 20mg of a pep, I often get 20mg-22mg. They overfill. You shouldn't get 10mg. A reliable lab lists the fill quantity on a COA. If you trust that lab, complain to the supplier. You have proof both vials are 10mg. It's not like the potency of alcohol; you're buying by weight.
