Down 100+lbs! My GLP-1 journey so far

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Starting at 201.6 pounds right now. Haven't felt much effect yet, maybe slight fullness after smaller meals. Looking forward to the journey toward better health and feeling good about my appearance.

Few years back I was on semaglutide and dropped 25 before the med, then another 25-30 on it. Was working out a ton. Soon as I stopped, so did the weight loss. Stayed on it but nothing else came off, just maintained. Don't really remember the exact dose but I'd bumped it a few times. Starting again in a few weeks.

Made me smile. That seat thing is so tangible actual win. Over 100 down is wild getting to normal range is huge.

The dynamic where people in a position of authority use their own medication experience to comment on yours is one of the more uncomfortable parts of having it visible. A boss who is on a GLP-1 stack themselves should know better. 100+ lbs is a genuinely remarkable result and deserves to be celebrated without the commentary.

Max at 10 and stepping back to 5 to stop losing is the maintenance story that shows you can control the pace by adjusting the dose. The long-acting insulin needing to go up at 5mg is the metabolic lever that makes this a more complex picture than just weight. 100+ lbs is a great milestone - what does the T2D picture look like now compared to before starting?

Ha. The whole thing really is a bit wild. And right there through every step of this ride too.

Lost a large amount last year already, so there's less remaining now. But totally get the sentiment. Usually either hyper-fixated on calories to the point nothing else gets attention, or eating with zero regard for health at all.

Right now, on this drug class, eating still happens while somehow also not really eating in the old sense.

Genuinely appreciate the share though, because getting results like that clearly takes putting in every bit of the effort involved.

Same here! Still keep 'bed snacks' as a habit too. Year into a GLP-1 now, gradually reworking how I eat. Down 75 pounds, but those nighttime snacks act as a safety net for me. Occasionally get odd bouts of lightheadedness or nausea, and having something close by helps steady me. Also just eases my anxiety about running out of food nearby, which sounds strange, but there it is.

I log meals plus protein, fat, and carbs through an app called MacroFactor. Gives an initial calorie target then fine-tunes it based on how you're losing over time. Also got moving and started working out. Before starting this medication class, my whole day revolved around obsessing over my next meal. These days I'm usually well under my calorie target without trying. Feels amazing just living life without junk food pulling at me constantly. Been running this since March, down close to 40 pounds. Biggest worry is reverting to old eating patterns once I stop injecting. Looking into therapy now to hopefully prevent that.
