Down 100+ lbs - My Story & Tips!

Alright everyone, sharing my journey! I went from a size 18 to a size 6, losing a little over 100 pounds. My workout style? Think intense circuit training. I hit classes because the group setting keeps me accountable. My goal is to push harder each time. Remember, we all start somewhere. I was winded just doing the warm-up stretches at first. Yes, there's loose skin – my stomach kinda looks like I had a kid, but it's tightening up. Arms too. Legs are lagging behind, haha.

As for food, you know what's not helping. If you're only eating fast food and sweets, it's going to be slow. Focus on PROTEIN. Protein shakes are alright, but I loaded up on lean turkey sausages. Microwave a serving for a fast snack. Rotisserie chicken with lots of hot sauce was a staple for me. I'd measure out maybe a half-cup of rice—small serving.

It took me about a year. I pushed through the side effects – the sulfur burps (Metamucil helped!), random nausea (chugging water helped me), even a couple of emergency bathroom stops on road trips because I ate something I shouldn't have! I learned what triggered the issues and adjusted. This is a long play, getting into a new routine.

What an incredible transformation! You look fantastic! Are you still taking a GLP-1 for maintenance? If so, what dose are you on?

Did you deal with lipedema before? Your legs look so much better now! Mine look similar since I'm at the gym more.

Lots of questions here, I'll try to get to them all. For those asking about maintenance, I stayed on a low dose for a few months after I hit my goal. Now I'm off it completely, focusing on diet and exercise to maintain. It's definitely doable!

Saw someone else posted about a plateau... I can relate! I dropped 30 pounds pretty quickly at first, then things slowed down *a lot*. Don't get discouraged! Keep at it. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

I hear that! My stomach is the worst. Any specific exercises you found helpful for tightening things up?

I love seeing these long-term success stories. I'm coming up on almost a year and a half, down about 110 lbs. It's been a slow but steady journey, and posts like these keep me motivated. The biggest win for me is feeling better overall.

For the stomach, I focused on core work like planks and Russian twists. Also, just overall strength training to build muscle helps fill out the skin a bit. It takes time, though!
