Down 150+ lbs - check it out!

I've been getting asked about the skin situation after losing so much, but still not feeling confident enough to get a beach shot. So, here's this for now! It's wild to see how I looked two years ago; I can still recall how I felt back then (terrible 24/7).

For those curious, I began with 0.25mg weekly and moved to 1mg each week. Stayed disciplined throughout, aside from about a month off Ozempic and a brief try with Mounjaro (it didn't suit me). I mostly avoided serious side effects, only felt super drained in the morning - might also be from the kids, lol.

My usual source was charging me insane prices, like near a grand for one pen! So I quickly abandoned that plan. I'd get two pens every other month from an online vendor for just under $300. Currently, I'm on a maintenance dose for the next 3-4 months, planning to quit Ozempic entirely after!

Good luck to all of you on your journey. Every story and photo really motivated me, so I'm just adding mine :) My DMs are always open if you need advice or want to chat. If I managed it, so can you! To those just beginning: You got this!

Congrats on the weight loss! I have one question: When did your stomach finally start to flatten out? My doctor says it'll happen when it happens, but right now, the rest of me is thinner, but I still have a round belly. And yes, I do abdominal exercises. Any advice?

Glad this worked for many people! Didn't work at all for me, though. Maybe it's because I don't overeat? I am still 50+ pounds overweight. I was on it for months, and I experienced very mild side effects, but nothing else.

FIRST OFF... CONGRATULATIONS!!!

You're a true inspiration! :)

I would have DM'd you, but I think other people might have the same questions as me, plus some others.
What exactly did you eat?
Did you have a specific diet you followed?
Did you avoid alcohol?
What were your plateaus like? How long did you stay at the same weight before increasing the dose? You mentioned that you would increase your dose if you weren't losing weight on a pen.
What was your average weight loss per week and per month?

I'm taking Victoza and trying to figure out an equivalent dose for Ozempic. What's the starting dose, and how much would you increase the dose by? Victoza starts at 0.6, then increases from there. I realize they're two different meds, but with your input, I could research online and try to compare them as best as possible.

I've lost 49 pounds but have been stuck for several months, so I need some perspective since it's been nine months and I thought I would've lost more by now.

I'm getting married this fall and want to look and feel my best.

Thanks for your help!

To FunkyBetter, remember that equivalent dosing between Victoza (liraglutide) and Ozempic (semaglutide) isn't straightforward. They work similarly but have different potencies and dosing schedules. It's best to consult your prescribing doctor about converting between these meds! They can assess what's right based on your response to Victoza.

Good question. I didn't completely give up alcohol, but I really, really limited it. Maybe a drink or two a week, if that. Mostly because the side effects were way worse when I drank. Plus, all those empty calories!

I saw someone mention BMI. Just a friendly reminder that while it can be a quick metric, BMI isn't a perfect measure of health. It doesn't account for muscle mass, bone density, or body fat distribution. Body fat percentage or waist circumference might give a more complete picture. Just something to keep in mind!

Wow -- congrats on hitting your goal and getting out of the overweight category! Someone mentioned body fat %... I've been using a smart scale to track that. It's not perfect, but it's great for seeing trends over time.
