Down 45lbs & feeling great!

A little over a year ago, I was about 220, really struggling with asthma, and my allergies were crazy. Plus, I found out I had a fatty liver. I knew I needed to make some changes. I always had a sweet tooth, so finding something to help with cravings was key. Now, after trying semaglutide and then tirzepatide, I'm in better shape than I was in high school and fitting into size medium clothes again!

My asthma hasn't flared up at all, and my allergies have been quiet too. That's been the biggest win for me. I've also been focusing on eating better and staying active, and it's totally paying off.

If you're on the fence or having a hard time, keep going! Commit to changing your lifestyle along with the meds, and you'll get there. Trust me.

That's awesome! Congratulations!

I started on July 19th at 218 lbs, and this morning I weighed in at 204. It's incredible how well it's working, and I've barely had any side effects. I need to start exercising, but I've completely cut out fast food and I'm drinking way more water. I'm hoping to see my weight start with a 1 soon.

Do you plan to stay on the medication for a long time, or are you thinking of stopping at some point?

Congrats on the amazing progress, Stevie_38. I'm also finding that focusing on body fat percentage rather than just BMI has been helpful. BMI isn't always the best indicator of overall health. I use a scale to track it at home, and it gives me a better idea of where I'm at. Just remember that those home scales can fluctuate by a few percentage points depending on hydration levels, so try to measure at the same time each day to see the trends.

It's such a great feeling to see progress! I totally agree with GutCrew about focusing on body fat. I've been using the same scale every morning after I wake up, and I've been tracking the trends in a spreadsheet. It helps me stay motivated to see the numbers going in the right direction!

Are you planning on staying on the medication long term or stopping?
That's a great question. I honestly haven't decided yet. I'm enjoying the health benefits so much, especially the allergy and asthma relief, that I'm leaning towards staying on it for the foreseeable future. I'll definitely talk to my doctor about it.

I can't WAIT to get under 200lbs! It seems so far away right now. Hopefully, sema can get me there.
You can do it! Just stick with it and focus on making small, sustainable changes to your diet and activity levels. Even cutting out sugary drinks can make a big difference.
