Down 60 lbs - My GLP-1 Story!

I went to see my doc after trying everything to get the scale to budge. Instead, it went UP a couple of pounds even after six months of keto, cutting sugar, strength training, and lots of time on the treadmill. I was so upset, and we talked about GLP-1 meds. I told her I knew it wasn't a miracle cure. I just needed something that would actually WORK. She said, it kind of IS magical, and it could really change my life. And honestly? It has. I started at 212 pounds. The photo is from my brother's wedding last December. I was wearing a traditional dress from Vietnam. It almost didn’t fit, and I could barely breathe! I started on sema at the end of May, so just about seven months now. I’ve been really lucky and have been losing a pretty steady 1-2 pounds a week with hardly any bad side effects. It's been like magic. I weighed 152 this morning, and I want to lose another 15-20 lbs or so, but I'm really happy with my progress!

Thanks for posting! Reminder that we don't allow discussion of non-FDA approved versions of semaglutide, and no buying/selling meds, including via PM.

Congratulations! You look great. I hope you still have that dress. The color looks pretty on you, and if you had it taken in, it would be great for a special event.

You should take another photo in the same outfit now to see the difference.
That's a great idea! I'll have to see if I can find it. It might be packed away somewhere.

I agree with GastricEmpty. I've been on this journey for a while now. I didn't feel much until I got to a dose of 1mg. Now, it's been so helpful. My blood sugar went down a lot, and I've lost about 65 pounds. Prior to this, I was taking a lot of metformin and another med, but now I'm taking less metformin and hopefully can stop that too.

That's wonderful, Sub-Q_Sammy! I also use a plant-based protein shake with added vitamins in the morning. It makes me feel good knowing I'm getting proper nutrition, even if I'm not eating as much as I used to.

Appetite suppression just stopped after a few weeks for me. Lost 15 fast then nothing. Still want to eat even though I know I shouldn't.
