Down 60+ lbs - slow and steady wins!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Kicked things off on April 24th and the scale shows exactly 20lbs gone since then, checked this past Sunday.

Taking it slow really is the smarter route, better odds for keeping it off long term and better for overall health.

Originally figured I needed to drop somewhere around 50-60 pounds. Once I did, still felt heavy. So I switched to setting goals in five-pound chunks instead. Starting from 200, next target became 194.5. Ended up shedding another 40 pounds that way.

Five pounds feels way more doable than two hundred. Small wins add up.

These days I don't even track a specific number anymore. Just chasing a physique goal now, and that'll probably take a couple more years.

Had this exact question and fear too. Originally set the goal at a weight that technically still counted as overweight by BMI standards. Once that got reached, the decision was made to keep going. These days, for the very first time, BMI sits in the healthy range, and while the pace has slowed way down, without deliberately raising calories, dropping the dose, and shifting into maintenance, the losing might never have stopped on its own.
Been carrying extra weight for most of adult life, going back to childhood, so there's never really been a reference point for what a normal weight or feeling comfortable in this body even felt like.
Personal experience says sticking with the calorie deficit, eating well, staying active, and not dealing with underlying issues like insulin resistance or PCOS or other conditions that drive weight gain, the losing just continues until those factors change. That's the pattern that held true here anyway. Good luck, the right place gets found eventually.
