Oh man, what a refreshingly decent attitude. Genuine breath of fresh air around here. Was starting to lose faith in people given how some of the louder folks on this forum carry on. Luckily I've got a friend from college who I used to butt heads with constantly. Annoyingly, his intellect outpaces mine. Took ages to admit that to myself, but thankfully I finally did. He's the one who introduced me to GLP's. Did plenty of my own reading on the topic too, decent enough for someone without a medical background, but since intellectual challenge wasn't really the point, I chose to just follow his approach instead. Here's how that's gone.

Running Reta purely for weight loss. That's the core objective, everything else is secondary. General consensus holds that shedding roughly 2 pounds weekly stays within safe territory. Seen people here develop gallbladder trouble pushing faster than that. Hard pass on that outcome! Started at 1mg and just hit injection number eight a few days back at 2.5mg. Across 58 days, 22 pounds gone. Averages out to about 0.38 pounds daily, or roughly 2.65 weekly. Already running on the higher end there. Aside from constipation, zero other side effects so far. You're doing an incredible job, genuinely thrilled you hit your first target!

Just one gentle note: eating somewhere between roughly 700 and 1100 calories daily sounds drastically low for someone at your weight, worth double-checking that the restriction isn't getting overly severe. Your metabolism can settle into that kind of extended shortage even while medicated, and shrinking calorie needs as pounds come off could make it tougher to push through stalls down the road.

You've already accomplished so much. Stay the course, and take care of your body along the way. A gradual, steady approach really is the safest route to lasting results!

Thank you! And congrats on your 70 lb loss, that's genuinely incredible! My blood sugar's improved substantially, but appetite suppression and weight loss haven't really shown up yet at 5 mg. Hoping the jump to 7.5 mg changes that.

Kicking off at 145kg, badly out of shape and generally unwell, my only real goal was shedding 20 or 30 kilos so basic stuff like walking past 50 meters or handling housework and grocery runs wouldn't feel like an ordeal.

Got down to 115kg through effort alone and it was clearly working, started walking more to chip away at how unfit I was, kept going until progress leveled off around 75kg (running the same 1600-1800 calories daily the entire stretch). Genuinely happy landing there and mostly focused on not regaining, since this wasn't the first time I'd hit that low a number.

Came across GLPs, and after staying near 75kg for a year, held there another full year on a small ozempic dose, before moving to a tirz/reta combo which brought me down further to 64kg across the following year, likely the lightest I've been since somewhere around age twelve or thirteen. Honestly don't obsess much over the exact final number, as long as it stays under 75 and ideally under 70kg. More focused on balancing side effects against hunger control, ideally landing on an amount or combination that lets me stop consciously monitoring intake without gaining, something that was flat-out impossible pre-GLP, just eating however I fe
