Down 90 pounds!

Looking back at older pictures makes me realize how uncomfortable I used to be. I began using a GLP-1 medication around spring of last year, and shed about 55 pounds over the next half-year, but then progress halted for nearly a year. I switched to another similar med around October and lost the remainder since. I'm getting closer to my target weight, feeling excited about what's next! I've never been this size as an adult. Dropped from a size 18/20 to a 6. (Originally weighed about 240 lbs, now at 148 lbs or so)

You look fantastic!!! ✨✨✨✨✨

My experience has been quite similar! I started on a GLP-1 in Sept '23, losing approximately 40lbs within 6 months, but then plateaued significantly, even regaining a small amount. I switched to another in September 2024 and have now lost around 90lbs since my initial weight of 247. I also regret the past but feel significantly better now. ❤️

Keep up the amazing effort! I've lost roughly 35 pounds over the past three months and am currently in my second week on 7.5mg, feeling absolutely awful. Yes, you heard that right, truly terrible. Experiencing reflux, an upset stomach, dizziness, and just generally feeling unwell. But I'll persevere – no pain, no gain! My initial weight was 253 lbs (115kg), and today I weighed 220 lbs (100kg).

You look amazing! Your skin seems to have tightened up well! Any tips for that?

Thanks! I made sure to stay hydrated, and I also did some resistance training to help prevent muscle loss, which I think helped with skin elasticity too.

For those just starting out on this journey, I found this comparison helpful: another forum It discusses the differences in how the meds work!

Indeed. It's key to understand the mechanisms. Tirzepatide targets both GIP and GLP-1 receptors, whereas semaglutide selectively targets GLP-1 receptors.

I saw something about how some of these meds are based on venom from a lizard?! That sounds kinda scary. Anyone know if that's true?
