Big day! I'm shrinking!!!

I began taking a medication similar to Ozempic at the beginning of November '24 after struggling for years to get help with losing weight, also battling high blood pressure and insulin issues. I started at around 255 pounds, but I had been up to 265 at one point in 2023.

Today, precisely 7 months and 17 days later, I've finally hit my goal weight of 170 pounds, for a total loss of 85 pounds!

I was on a max dose of 7.5mg. Started at 2.5mg for a month, then 5mg for 3 months, then 7.5mg from March until now. Switching to a different medication for maintenance (it's much cheaper here). This is my last injection of the first med, and I'm so thankful for the chance to change my life. I feel much healthier, more energetic, and more confident! I'll miss it.

I barely recognize myself, and neither do my family or friends. 170 is the lightest I've been since I was a teenager. I've been overweight most of my life. Not only am I smaller, but my hair is curlier and lighter. My glasses fit better now. I'm even wearing brighter clothes. After years of weight problems, I finally love my body!

Honestly, I never thought I'd be in a healthy weight range. Writing this with happy tears!

So, my journey is nearing its end. I'd still like to lose another 5 pounds, but I'm not too worried about it. Wish me luck with maintenance!

Happy to answer any questions! 😁

Congrats!! I'm also considering switching to a different med for maintenance when I hit my goal. What will your maintenance dose be?

Well done! You've earned this. Enjoy your success and remember this feeling. I'm curious how the switch to the other med works out for you. Keep up the great work.

Wow! Amazing job and wonderful outcome. I'm just starting and can't imagine such a change. Any tips for newbies? When's the highest risk of quitting? Good luck! Please keep us updated on your maintenance.

Started at 174 lbs and just started week 5 at 5mg, currently down to 166 lbs. Progress is slow but steady, which is fine. I'm accepting it'll take as long as it takes.

Congrats! 👏 Did the meds kill your appetite to where you skipped meals, or did they just make you feel full faster? Which effect was more prominent?

For me, it was more about feeling full faster combined with less interest in food. I still ate regularly, but smaller portions and less snacking.

That's amazing, The_Gains! I've seen people drop over 200 lbs with these meds. It's truly life-changing. I'm curious about your maintenance plan. I've heard some doctors suggest staying on them long-term, even at a lower dose, because without them, the weight can come back even with a healthy lifestyle.

That's what my doc said too! "Once you're on it, you could be on it for life." He said even with diet and exercise, many gain the weight back. It's something to consider.

Wow, thanks for sharing your experience, The_Gains! It really gives me hope. I'm struggling with the side effects, though – constant burping, indigestion, and just feeling like food is stuck. Anyone else dealing with this?
