Down a LOT... now what?

Wow, BigTale, very similar starting point to mine. Can't quite picture myself at 120--that's amazing! And I'm 67, so we're close in age too. Congrats!

Lost about 80 lbs over over a year on Mounjaro, going up a dose each time. Then insurance stopped covering it. Gained about 50 lbs in less than a year. Switched to terzepatide a year ago, but had to begin at the starting dose again. Currently on the highest dose and need to lose around 12 lbs to get back to my lowest weight, but want to lose a bit more after since I have about 4-5 months of supply left. I plan to reduce the dose slowly once I reach my goal. I know I have insulin resistance.

Glad you're okay. Things can be replaced, people can't. My sister keeps telling me older folks should keep extra weight on, just in case they get sick. But she is overweight--so I don't know about that advice.

I’m 74 and 5’2”, and at 132 lbs, my doctors don’t want me to lose anymore. That's totally fine by me - I can keep the size 10s I bought after hitting my goal last year and not buy anything new. (Had a house fire 14 months ago and the restoration guys sent all my old clothes to be cleaned before I could stop them--so until I donate them, no room for anything new!)

I tell you what, it's definitely a marathon, not a sprint. I dropped about 20 pounds since November. Clothes fit better, I feel more mobile. I went from 312 to 215 over a year and a change. I've never felt healthier and I'm certain you all can too!

Wanted to share that in just 3 weeks on a small dose, some patients are already seeing big changes. One of my patients lost 17lbs in that timeframe! It's amazing what these meds can do when combined with diet and exercise changes.
