Downsizing my closet!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Already replaced my whole closet twice at this point. Hold off buying too much before you actually hit goal. Ten pounds left for me and stuff's already getting baggy again. Money down the drain lol

Hit a plateau, bought some new pieces, and now those are already loose too, ugh. Really stings since I've always been into fashion, so my old closet was so carefully put together and none of it fits me anymore.

Been swinging by the thrift store, just picking up a handful of pieces at a time. Wear them for a stretch, weeks or months, then donate them back and grab replacements. Way cheaper route than buying everything brand new.

Eventually planning to build out a proper wardrobe once I've settled at my target size.

My size went from a 14 down to a zero and I'm approaching three years of maintaining. Anything that would look dated got tossed, two favorite pairs of jeans and a few comfy undies stayed, and the rest went to donation. Even though I'm maintaining well, my habits feel too recent to let go of those pants, so they aren't leaving soon.

Been there, more than once. With the first batch I felt unsure, I had to build trust that I'd never need those clothes again. Clothes cost a lot. Winter coats were big too, all of them needed replacing this past winter since they hung off me. I do think your counts are steep though. I own perhaps ten pairs of shorts (3 for working out), perhaps 10 work shirts, 20 tshirts and 8 pairs of pants, near what I had before purging and re-buying. Nice work freeing up room in your closet!

Turns out I'm not alone in owning so many clothes! Back in my marriage I cleared out my skinny wardrobe after putting on 40+ lbs within a year. The bags got lined up and my ex was told to dispose of them. I bought a whole new wardrobe four sizes up and resigned myself to it, feeling deeply sad. Once I finally cracked how to lose it all, I admitted to my ex that I regretted tossing those cute skinny outfits. He sprinted to the garage, hauled every one out and said, 'Here! I believed in you even when you'd stopped believing in yourself.' The marriage ended but we stayed friends, and I'll never forget that moment.
