Dropped my Reta - still good?

Hey everyone,

I had a minor mishap. I was getting my two vials of reta powder from the freezer and dropped them. I didn't see any cracks right away, but they frosted up fast when they warmed up, so it was hard to see. Should I be concerned about degradation?

I've had some of my peptides look beat up just from delivery. If the vials are still sealed you should be fine.

Oh no, that vial is probably damaged, even if you can't see it, micro fractures. Like dropping a glass jar. Ugh.

I hear you GymGirl.

If you're going to filter when you DON'T drop the vial, then for sure filter it when you DO drop it. If you don’t normally filter, dropping it is no reason to start now.

The vacuum is from manufacturing to remove moisture, but even if you lose it that won't change the molecules. So my point stands, you don't make sense!

Dropping the vial doesn't make sense either. Seriously, air, or more accurately water vapor, can cause proteins to break down. That's why we refrigerate after mixing, to slow it down. And even then, we're told to use it within a month or so.

My concern is if the vacuum is lost, sterility is compromised by dropping it.

Hydrolysis degradation from moisture is a longer-term problem, and that moisture also helps bacteria grow.

You've made a good case for filtering.

Unless someone's immune system is weak, your body is pretty amazing at fending off minor bacterial issues. Except for the really nasty ones, of course.
