Eloralintide: new weight loss hope?

@ZippityDooDah Should we start a thread just for eloralintide? It's a drug based on amylin for losing weight.

Right now, the popular drugs for weight loss are GLP-1 drugs, that includes drugs that target only GLP-1 and drugs that target glucagon and/or GIP too.

Here's a study on eloralintide that tested it on people for 48 weeks. The people who took the highest dose dropped 20% of their weight over the 48 weeks.

I'm hoping it will be helpful for people who can't handle GLP-1 drugs, don't see results from them, or need another med on top of what they are already doing.

I think Eloralintide, with its appetite suppression, would go great with Retatrutide. Reta works, but appetite suppression is not its strong point, especially at lower doses. I didn't do well with Cagri. So I'm curious about Eloralintide.

Eloralintide is awesome because it has a different method of action than most GLP-1+ drugs. That means it's awesome for combo therapy!

True. It's great that there are options but using them in young people needs careful consideration. What are the risks of shutting down their own natural systems at that age?
