Face Gains & Mounjaro questions!

Hey everyone! So many great comments on my last post, I wanted to answer some of the common questions and share another face progress pic - I've dropped 130 pounds now!

The biggest question was about tips for beginners. It's tough because there's no easy button, but tracking my shots and weight religiously was a game-changer. I used an app called Glapp - super easy to use on my phone or computer, and it helped me see progress even when I felt stuck. Plus, tracking helped me learn how certain foods affected me. You can customize the dosages too.

Second tip: Protein first! Don't go crazy, but prioritize the protein on your plate. I often found I didn't even want the carbs after the meat/fish and veggies. Smaller portions, less bloat. Carbs first = plate cleared, major bloat later.

Third, and maybe controversial: No cheat DAYS. Occasional treats are fine – a square of chocolate, a few fries. But those weeks when I skipped my shot to indulge? Huge setback. If you're in no rush, that's one thing, but if you want results in about a year, maybe try this.

Oh, and I didn't exercise much, just chasing my toddler. I know, I know, not ideal. But I haven't lost noticeable muscle, and my tummy loose skin will prob need surgery eventually.

Ask away if you have more questions!

Amazing inspo! I shared your before/after and tips to our Mounjaro support group. Glad you mentioned GLAPP! It is really useful. I use it to track patterns - I feel off 2 days after my shot. I must buy the makers a drink!

You look fantastic! And you looked nice to start with! You look like a new person. I want to shed about 125 lbs. I just had my 2nd dose of 2.5 mg of MJ. You're inspirational. I am excited for my results by year's end. So far, so good! Congrats!

Congrats on the change! What was your MJ titration plan? How long have you been on it? I'm still at 2.5 and have a huge belly, how long did it take to lose the belly?

Thanks for posting this. I just vented to a local group about throwing up after a small portion of a high-fat meal. And then it happened again after a tiny bag of chips. 90% of the comments were shaming me for even eating that, saying I shouldn’t be eating like that. I usually eat really healthily. I'm a bit bummed. But you say you could indulge SOMETIMES. That's different than what they said. Even in the smallest amount, I'm not supposed to? Can you eat even a handful of fatty/processed snacks and not feel sick?

Wow!

I'm starting Mounjaro soon. The doctor stated that Mounjaro is a lifelong drug, which means that it has to be used for a long time. How true is that? After reading your post and this forum, I knew that I had to use this drug no matter what. Are you still using it now that you have achieved your goal? Do you want to stop using it and switch to something cheaper? I'm asking because it is expensive, but worth it. How was the side effects when you started?

Congrats! Beautiful then and now. I'm still amazed by people not finding GLAPP! It's perfect, like Lucas Veritas's GLP-1 Effect Newsletter.

Seattle_Sleeper, I saw someone on Reddit say they've dropped 25 lbs with semaglutide but don't see a difference yet. Did you experience that? Did the changes sneak up on you?

Yes, definitely! It's like, you look in the mirror every day, so you don't notice. That's where the progress photos really helped me. It's also why I use the GLAPP app religiously, even when I don't think anything's happening.

I saw someone else on Reddit posted before/after ring cam pics, and it's a huge change! Even if the angles/distance aren't the same. It's hard to see the difference in yourself in real life

I'm curious about this too! Is it really a lifelong thing, or can you eventually wean off? The cost is a concern for me as well.
