Hi all! Started on Ozempic around summer of '23 and got to my goal in about 9 months. I'm at my wedding weight, kinda crazy! What's even wilder, I did my checkup last week. The doctor had me do a bunch of blood work. She said that even though I'm pushing 60, my body's working like I'm in my mid-twenties. All my levels looked fantastic.

She even said that BMI is just one way to look at things. If I feel good, exercise, eat well, and I'm living a full life, then I shouldn't stress too much about a single number. My advice: don't get too caught up in online debates about ideal weight, which are often based on limited data. Get your own tests done and see how *your* body is doing. Thanks, Novo!

That's wonderful news! I'm so happy for you (and everyone else on this journey!). Your post prompted me to look into how weight loss affects things like DNA methylation and other biomarkers. There aren't a ton of solid studies yet, but the early signs from animal studies and, of course, your experience are really encouraging. I'm also curious about the DEXA scan – did you have one?

Also, would you be willing to share which biomarkers they measured? I'd like to ask my doctor about them too.

Thanks, everyone! @T2D_Warrior_Jim and @LeanLady No DEXA scan this time, just regular bloodwork. I will definitely ask about it next time. As for the specific biomarkers, I'm trying to remember them all, but some that stood out were cholesterol, triglycerides, A1c, liver enzymes, and inflammatory markers (like CRP). Everything was optimal! I was surprised. I will try to look at the report again today to see if I can remember any others.

For those asking about biomarkers, keep an eye on your IGF-1 levels, especially if you're considering peptides. It's a key indicator. I've seen some interesting research suggesting certain peptides might not always show an increase in IGF-1 on blood tests, even if they're effective. Something to discuss with your doctor!

I'm curious if anyone has noticed changes in their testosterone levels while on GLP-1 meds? I saw someone online mention their levels went up significantly after just a few weeks, along with improvements in blood sugar and blood pressure. Could be related to the weight loss itself?

That's fascinating! I know that weight loss can definitely impact hormone levels. I will definitely be asking my doctor to check mine next time I get bloodwork done. Thanks for bringing that up!

Injected 0.25 mg on Tuesday and by Monday I was finally feeling a bit like myself. Depression and irritability have been the main issues, plus this weird feeling in my body. Mood swings happen - okay for a bit then the anhedonia returns. If you dealt with this, how long before you felt normal again?

Rely heavily on premade protein shakes, protein yogurt smoothies, clear proteins, protein pasta, bananas, unsweetened sauce pouches, and edamame for some reason. When I'm not feeling great I just graze those all day - little sips of smoothie here or nursing a shake for an hour.

Ro was disappointing-started smooth but then slow replies, missed timing, had to chase them constantly. That consistency gap really disrupts treatment.

That jittery feeling after a bump plus nausea and loose stool feels like electrolyte depletion. Magnesium and sodium help calm things down. Rehydrating saved me from a similar GI mess.
