Finally hit -50! Persistence pays!

It's been quite the adventure, and there were many moments I wanted to throw in the towel. I'd have weeks where the scale wouldn't budge, or even creep up a bit, and plateaus that lasted for what felt like forever. But I stuck with it, and today I'm celebrating officially crossing the 50-pound mark!

If you don’t mind sharing, did you follow a specific regimen such as tracking your calorie intake and incorporating physical activity like gym workouts or regular walks?

How long did it take you? I just started a month ago, and it feels like I'm losing and gaining the same 2-3 pounds over and over. It's so discouraging!

To Lab_Mouse_4421: I did start tracking calories more closely, and I aim for a high-protein diet. I also try to get in at least 30 minutes of walking most days, and I've started incorporating some light weightlifting a couple of times a week.

I've been there! Weight loss isn't always linear. Some weeks you'll lose more, some less, and some you might even gain a little. The important thing is to focus on the overall trend and not get too hung up on weekly fluctuations.

Thanks, that's good to know. It's hard not to feel defeated when I don't see the scale moving consistently downwards!

I've heard of people encountering plateaus with semaglutide. One thing I read was about temporarily lowering the dose for a week or two and then returning to the original dose. Apparently, that can sometimes jumpstart the weight loss again. Has anyone else tried that?

That's an interesting approach! I've also heard that sometimes changing the injection site can help break through a plateau. Our bodies can adapt, so mixing things up might be beneficial.
