Food Aversions on MJ?

Since being on Mounjaro, coffee doesn't appeal to me like it used to. It was my go-to drink. Now I'm exploring different teas, and raspberry cranberry is the only one that I really enjoy. Also, I used to love rum and Coke, but now even the thought of it makes me queasy. I'm curious if others have had similar experiences with MJ changing their preferences.

I'm craving fruits like apples, oranges, and grapes, and also milk. Cottage cheese is too sour now, and I miss the emotional comfort that carbs and fats provided when I was stressed.

Nothing at all! I absolutely love my new life. Instead of food, I now find joy in activities and hobbies. I'm finally doing all the amazing things I couldn't do before because I was overweight. I never want to go back.

Is it bad to say alcohol? I wasn't a huge drinker after college, but I enjoyed trying new drinks at a bar or brewery. Now, I just don't care to.

I used to drink multiple cups of coffee every day. Now I can barely manage two cups a week! I miss the routine of grinding the beans, heating the water, picking out a mug, the lovely aroma, and the warm feeling. Now, I usually leave my cup half-finished.

I miss enjoying the taste of my favorite foods. My food noise is much lower now, and I can't eat high-carb or high-fat foods the same way. I miss the simple pleasure of eating without overthinking every bite.

It's interesting that some people miss coffee, because it's almost my only treat now. I think I'm buying more coffee than before Mounjaro. I don't crave cakes or sweets, so I get a nice coffee from a local roastery when I need a pick-me-up. Mounjaro hasn't reduced my coffee cravings at all. I've even become more particular about the type of coffee I drink, enjoying single-origin coffees with complex flavors. A friend joked that I've become a coffee snob.

Coffee is a big thing for me too. I used to be a barista and it's a huge passion. I still love making it for others, but my intake is down to an espresso in the morning. Before, I'd have two or three flat whites daily.

I miss enjoying food. I don't miss the food itself, but I miss the feeling it gave me. My all-time favorite meal was fish fingers and fries with lots of bread for sandwiches. Now, I try an alternative with fresh cod and a small amount of sweet potato fries, and while it's nice, it doesn't give me the same joy. It makes me realize how much happiness I got from eating. I'm in a calorie and dopamine deficit.

I've stopped caring about food. It's made throwing dinner parties impossible. I feel silly, but I forget things like side dishes, desserts, and nice drinks. 🤷‍♀️

I definitely don't want to drink as much as I used to, which is a good thing. A rum and Coke is great, but I don't think I could drink a can of Coke now. It would be too sweet. I'm also disappointed that I don't enjoy my usual breakfast of berries, yogurt, oats, and nuts. I've gone off the yogurt. I used to love that. And I can't eat oatmeal anymore. It's a shame because they're healthy! Oddly, I've never been much of a coffee drinker, but now I love a good strong espresso.

I've felt like I've had brain surgery! I'm only a few weeks in, and I've quit smoking (now vaping), all sodas, and sweets. It's like I have willpower again!

This is so true for me. It's less about what I *can't* eat and more about how differently I experience food now.

I definitely understand the diminished joy, [@Lou07]. Everything just feels... muted. It's great for weight loss, but I sometimes miss those intense flavor experiences.

I'm now 6 months in. The food noise really does quiet down, but I noticed it creeping back up as I approach my next injection. It's like my brain is whispering, "Hey, remember how good that pizza used to taste?"
