Food noise creepin' back!

Okay, so I did my ninth dose Tuesday night, and now I'm starving all the time! I started with 2.5mg for the first four doses at a weight management place. Then I switched and now I'm on my fifth 5mg dose. I was gonna hold off on upping the dose unless I stopped losing weight, which I haven't... but now I have zero appetite suppression! What should I do? Should I increase to 7.5mg next time, or can I add something else to help?

You're a person, so you're going to experience hunger sometimes. Weight loss is more like a staircase than a straight drop. You haven't even been on a plateau yet. A stall is weeks of no change. Be thankful you're seeing results on lower doses, because that will save you money and make maintenance easier. But if you want a pat on the back, congrats! You're doing great! 👍

Don't take meds to avoid hunger, you're not a robot.

Add a little sema on the side. Or inject a small top-up dose. If I feel intense hunger returning before my next scheduled dose... I'll do a small bump.

It's your body, so do what you want. You could also try splitting your dose and doing half every 3.5 days instead of the whole dose weekly. That keeps things more consistent.

Thanks! I did have one week where the scale didn't budge when I was on vacation and eating everything in sight. I am very happy that I haven't had a true stall yet.

I considered splitting the weekly dose and asked the owner of the medspa I started with. He strongly advised against it, saying it could cause gastroparesis. That scared me away from that!

If you're still losing, there's no need to up your dose. Just be sure you're drinking enough water. Good luck!

I've had the same thing happen – intense hunger a couple of days after my shot. I figured out it was tied to what I was eating. If I ate more carbs or sugar than usual (even a little), it made the hunger come back. It doesn't happen when I mostly stick to protein, veggies, and plenty of water.

It happens every now and then. I wouldn't increase the dose just yet. There are lots of other things to consider. Protein like @StallsRUs mentioned, and staying hydrated. A lot of people don't drink enough water. If I don't drink at least 60-80oz of water a day, the hunger comes back. Your body might be telling you it's missing something.

If you're still losing weight, what's the problem? I feel like I'm constantly snacking, but I've still lost 70 pounds since August and I've been stable for a couple of months. My wife snacks even more than me and she keeps losing weight. We need to eat, there's nothing wrong with enjoying food. Wanting to eliminate food noise and hunger completely is bordering on an eating disorder, IMHO. Just accept it, snack on healthy things often, and increase your dose if you need to keep losing. We're going to see more GLPs that don't affect hunger as much but still cause fat loss; those will be the future for maintenance. I want to live where I can eat nachos like my skinny friend and not worry about my weight!

I used to love coffee but not so much anymore. I've switched to tea, and the only one I really enjoy is raspberry and cranberry.

That's wonderful progress! I've seen this happen with others - once the mental food obsession quiets down, people start noticing those small uncomfortable issues they've adapted to living with, and then they actually tackle them. Changes stack up over time. Who knows, perhaps you'll eventually reach the physique you're after. It's all about incremental progress.

Congrats on making real progress. It's interesting how things shift once that food preoccupation eases up. People start noticing other stuff that bothered them for years, and bit by bit things get sorted out. Who knows what's next for you.

I plateau'd at 15 weekly. Bumped to 20 and the scale moved again, but hunger crept back on day five. So now I hit 15 every five days and landed my target weight. Might drop to 10 every five for keeping it. Never hit any rough side effects from Tirz overall.

During the trial phase, it took care of the food noise piece, slowed how fast your stomach empties, really tamped down appetite. On top of that I noticed less swelling overall and my sleep got way better.
