Forgot my meds!

Headed to Tokyo tomorrow and I packed everything... except my Ozempic injection 🤦‍♀️. A 14-day trip is coming up but I don't know what's going to happen. Any advice? I should be moving up to 2mg tomorrow, but I probably can't do that when I get back.

Because of the medication's half-life which is about a week, you'll be okay for the first week or so. The med will be at half-strength during the first week and then a quarter-strength the week after that. Generally, GLP-1 doctors tell patients to cut back the dose if they're going to skip longer than two weeks, so you'll want to talk to your doctor. I agree with another poster... enjoy your vacation and eat lots!

A break during a vacation is a good time for a break! Savoring the local meals won't hurt your progress too much :)

Thanks everyone for the replies!! This trip took forever to plan and I was a little stressed lol you all made me feel way better!! Thanks!

It's going to be alright. You can get back on track easily. For example, when I had a colonoscopy, I had to stop for 2 weeks beforehand. I just did that. It's weird but while I was off it, my appetite was still muted. When I started again, my cravings came back.

I was in between refills when I went on vacation.
So instead of taking my shot every 4 days (like I had been doing for months), I went 8 days without a shot.
I know this isn't a 2-week break like you're facing, just sharing my experience.
I did okay. My appetite didn't really come back. I still counted macros and calories, trying to stay on track.
The med lasts a while in the body. You can start up again when you get back.

You're going on a once-in-a-lifetime trip. Be kind to yourself. Enjoy the great food there and safe travels!

When I stopped before I had no real change for about two weeks. After that... Whoa... Now I understand what people mean by food noise!!!

Yeah, the 'food noise' is real! It's amazing how much that med quiets that down, isn't it?

I've heard from a few people doing 'low and slow' on Ozempic, staying under 1mg for a long time, and having good success. It seems like it might minimize some of the side effects. Has anyone else tried that approach?

I'm doing that now. I been on 0.5mg for like a year, and had a great result. I still wanna drop around 30lbs, but I am happy where I am.
