frustrated rant incoming...

I cannot stand when I see people complaining about only losing 8 lbs in a month, or 20 lbs in 2 months, when before starting the meds, they were losing NOTHING. Like, hello??? I know everyone wants results ASAP, but bodies don't work that way, and that's perfectly FINE! Slow and steady progress is still progress.

And then some of you expect the medication to do EVERYTHING. No change in diet, zero exercise, barely any water intake. Just constant whining, and it's SO annoying. I have to dig through so many posts just to find helpful information and positive experiences because it's always the same negativity.

Just be patient and put in some effort, geez. And stop spamming the feed with the same complaints when you haven't even bothered to try. Thanks for listening.

Just stopping by to remind everyone about the rules! NO discussing non-approved meds or sources. Don't ask for or accept DMs offering to sell you anything. They aren't endorsed here.

Newbies, check out the FAQ:

"I had my first injection and dropped 3 lbs. But the next couple of weeks I only lost 2! HALP!"

Seriously, some people need to adjust their expectations.

I'm almost a year in and down about 50 lbs. My weight fluctuates all the time, but overall it's going down.

Don't forget that even "just" 8 lbs a month, or 20ish in 3 months... that's still SUPER fast weight loss. Anything faster needs a doctor's supervision because there can be serious health issues (like organ problems) from losing weight too quickly. People think it's a magic fix and they can lose all the weight they want in weeks and then stop. It's still a gradual process!

Starting week three, and I got really happy when I weighed myself and saw I had finally lost a pound and a half, haha.

"I'm eating better, but the scale is not budging!"

Okay, but how many calories are you actually consuming? "Uhhh, no clue."

You can be that person, lol.

We all should know that everyone is different.

Just listing pounds lost doesn't help anyone. We need more info to even give advice.

How long on sema?
What dose?
What's your diet/calorie intake?
What's your weight?
What exercises?
Has it curbed your appetite?

What gets to me the most (here and on that other site) is when people post "I had my first dose two days ago and I don't feel anything! Is it even working?" Like...seriously??? Give it a while, dang it! Some people just don't do their research, or their docs don't tell them anything. Or both!

Here's a different take: I'm avoiding the scale for now!

It's been about a month, and I see it in the mirror, plus I feel it at the gym and in my yoga class. My doctor will weigh me at my next appointment, and I might actually ask her what it is for the first time ever.

I saw a grad student is doing a survey about everyone's experiences on GLP-1s. They're looking for all experiences, good and bad. Maybe it's a way to contribute and help improve things for future users?

I love this attitude! Focusing on how you feel and how your clothes fit is way more motivating than a number on a scale. The scale can be so misleading with water weight and everything.

So I saw some interesting charts about semaglutide use in overweight teenagers. Looks like it can be really effective, but obviously, it needs to be closely monitored by a doctor. The study results showed significant weight loss and improvements in other health markers.

That's really good news! I'm glad they're studying it for younger people too, since obesity can cause so many problems early in life.
