Gagging on Reta?!

Reta squad,

Since bumping up to 12mg, I've been experiencing:

- A real gag reflex
- If I trigger it (like biting something hard), I actually throw up

Been at 12mg for 3 months now and vomited 3 times from unexpected textures, which is way more than I ever have. Anyone else?

I'm not against sourcing outside approved channels. I do it too. But when you get meds that way, it can be hard to get medical advice. Your doctor might say it's nothing and you should reduce your dosage for a bit. Or they might be very concerned. I'd say Frankie_18 is usually pretty chill about these things, so if they're worried, I'd pay attention.

I get gag reflexes when I have too much appetite suppression, no matter the drug. Food can also taste weird.

Yeah, the "foods taste different" thing still happens for about a day after my shot. Does it also affect your sense of smell?

Yep, stuff that smelled amazing can smell awful or just "off."

Salmon quality seems to have tanked lately. I used to eat it weekly but now rarely do. Plus, prices are crazy!

No gag reflex here, but I do have food aversions on reta (never happened on sema or tirz). I can't eat chicken or broccoli anymore... and I used to love them!

Not on Reta, but on tirzepatide and yeah, I've had a gag reflex too.

Sometimes food smells bad, even when it's fresh. I'm at 5mg but started noticing this back in July.

Not a gag reflex, but I had way more saliva when brushing my teeth, esp. my tongue, after upping my tirz dose to 7.5mg.

No nausea, but I thought I might throw up. I went to the toilet, opened my mouth, and saliva just gushed out for a minute. No gagging or anything. Just tons of saliva for a minute. Only happened once.
