GLP-1 bloodwork deets?

I'm curious who else here has gotten blood tests done because of using GLP1RAs, either ordered by their doctor or on their own, and what the typical findings are. As an example, I recently had a range of tests done (like CBC, CMP, Thyroid, Pancreas, etc.) and everything came back normal except for these:

Lipase, Elevated: 81 (Range 7-60)
Amylase, Normal: 54 (Range 21-101)
TSH, Normal: 4.09 (Range 0.4-4.5)
T4 Total, Low: 4.8 (Range 4.9-10.5)
Free T4, Normal: 1.8 (Range 1.4-3.8)
T3 Uptake, Elevated: 38% (Range 22-35)

This all looks about right to me, especially since the thyroid levels are so close to the normal range. My TSH has always been high, so this is normal for me. The lipase thing scared me until I found out it basically doesn't matter unless you also have symptoms, and a small increase without symptoms isn't a big deal. Thoughts?

Some docs would treat that thyroid, honestly. Your T4 is kinda low, so your T3 is probably also not great. If you're using a GLP1 to drop pounds, you might wanna chat with your doc and see if they'd consider addressing it.

I wonder if the lab benefits from having you retest? Those numbers are practically in range. Maybe I'm just a skeptic.

I get blood work done, and once I got a result that was REALLY off. It was scary and I didn't get much support. When I retested, my levels were normal again.

Unless you get help from a doctor to decipher and provide ongoing investigation/treatment, I'd rather not know because the stress isn't worth it.

I don't have any reason to doubt the accuracy of the lab, but yeah, I decided not to worry too much about these results. My thyroid has always been borderline anyway. I looked into the lipase and without other symptoms, the level doesn't mean much.

Interesting thread! I wanted to share my experience a few weeks after starting sema. My A1C went from 7.8 to 6.6, glucose dropped from 147 to 111, and my blood pressure went from 145/90 to 122/80. Seems things are moving in the right direction. I've been increasing water intake and fiber.

Whoa! That's amazing progress so fast!

Thanks, I'll definitely bring it up. I just don't want to jump to conclusions based on one set of results! I appreciate the advice though.

I've also seen cases where people's testosterone levels increased significantly while on these meds. It may be correlated with weight loss/better blood glucose control. This is anecdotal, of course. Remember to always discuss any medical concerns with your doctor!
