GLP-1 break: good idea?

I'm currently taking a break from Reta because my training and diet require around 2500 calories daily, which I just can't manage on any reasonable dose. I'll probably start with a low, ~1mg dose for maintenance.

A break can definitely be beneficial. Plan your meals and exercise. We should be training ourselves to do precisely this when we're using GLPs, in my opinion.

I'm wondering whether I should take a GLP break or increase my Tirz dose. Mounjaro helped me lose ~30lbs, leaving another 30lbs to reach a healthy weight. But then it stopped working. Reta causes palpitations when I increase the dose, which is irritating. I've also regained almost 10lbs. So frustrating! I'm thinking of going back to Tirz but unsure of the starting dose. I'm currently at 3mg Reta twice a week and miss the appetite suppression and steady weight loss. How should I switch? Would, say, 10mg of Tirz be similar to 3mg Reta biweekly? Any thoughts?

I'm currently taking 12.25 mg of Reta and just added 2.5 mg of Tirz, which has helped me get the scales moving again after a stall. I'm around 10 lbs from my target. I'd suggest maxing out the dose of one GLP (either Tirz or Reta) before adding another one.

I did max out Tirz/Mounjaro at 15mg for months before lowering the dose and starting Reta. My weight loss resistance is high, so I'll need to tweak my diet a bit more.

I agree with @Green-FWIW. It's not just about the medication; it's about what you do *while* you're on it. I'm focusing on building healthy habits now, so I can maintain my weight loss even after I taper off.

That's rough! Maybe try lowering the dose and adding in some cardio? Sometimes that helps me when I'm feeling stuck.

I saw someone on Reddit say they lost a TON of weight on Ozempic, like maybe 100lbs. They stopped gradually by lowering the dose! They said they felt less hungry as they lowered the dose, which is interesting.

Yeah, I saw a Reddit thread where almost everyone who stopped Ozempic gained it all back. Someone said their doctor told them most people regain the weight, so it's probably a lifetime thing.

Coughing is a great idea. Haven't tried IM yet but thinking about it for other stuff. For sub-q, visualizing the needle entry point as 0.5 inch under skin instead of the surface helps. Goes in with barely any effort this way.

Dosing up when already having problems is a recipe for hospital time from dehydration plus vomiting. Don't understand raising when you're struggling. Stop until side effects settle, restart lower. Maybe don't restart until reading more and understanding safe use.
