GLP-1 changed my life! Anyone else?

Lost 88 pounds in about 10 and a half months on tirzepatide and I'm honestly in love with it. Changed everything for me, even helps with the pain I had. My goal weight target is 13 more pounds, but I'm actually thinking I want to drop 23 more. This medication has been a total game changer for how I feel day to day.

Mounjaro's been a total game-changer for how I relate to food and eating, honestly. I'm grateful for that. But losing weight and then dealing with loose skin on my stomach and chest is rough, you know? I don't really want to go the surgery route either, it's not cheap and insurance won't touch it. Mostly just looking to know I'm not alone in this. Would love to hear what's worked for anyone else.

Hi, been hitting the gym hard for almost two years but recently got dizzy when standing up, got too warm, or pushed too hard. Both at the gym and in regular life. Saw my doctor right away and after tests got diagnosed with POTS. Doc says mostly seated exercises, no heavy lifting in case I pass out. Any suggestions for low-impact seated or supported workouts that still give results? Anyone else here have POTS and got tips?

The Hollywood association made the public conversation messier than it needed to be early on - when celebrities adopted it before access opened up, it got framed as a vanity drug for the wealthy rather than the metabolic medication it actually is. That framing stuck and it's still doing damage to how some people view legitimate users today.

The dumping syndrome connection is worth mentioning for anyone with bariatric history - the GLP-1 mechanism slows gastric emptying in a way that can interact with the post-surgical physiology. For people who had procedures and didn't get the expected results, the GLP-1 pathway often provides a different kind of signal to the satiety centers that the structural change didn't fully address.

The endocrine imbalance piece is what the calorie-deficit model consistently fails to account for. Five or six times losing 200 pounds and the cardiac damage from repeated cycles is the real cost of treating a hormonal disease with willpower. GLP-1s addressing the mechanism rather than just the symptom is what changes the outcome.
