GLP-1 Comparison: What's working for YOU?

Hey everyone, I've been trying to keep up with all the different peptides being thrown around here, so I made a little cheat sheet for myself to compare them. It's got info that I felt was important, but keep in mind I'm just some random person online! Please don't make medical decisions based on this, but hopefully it can give you a good starting point for your own research.

This is awesome, Minnie-the-Moocher, thanks for sharing. I haven't encountered all of this consolidated in one location previously. Your personal assessments regarding appetite are intriguing, providing a fantastic foundation for commencing one's individual exploration.

My own experience leads to different conclusions regarding "hunger control". It appears that these assessments may deviate somewhat from the findings reported by the researchers themselves.

I was about to say the same thing, Minnie-the-Moocher! Is this completely from your own experience? Have you used them all? Or did you find this from studies or trials?

I have to disagree with the Reta score on appetite, but I've heard that higher doses work better.

I rated them based mainly on how they're supposed to work chemically, then looked at the overall weight loss and how well they control blood sugar. Not what people said about how they felt.

Dose really matters. In the study, people taking the higher amounts (6mg and 12mg) said they felt less hungry and more full. They craved junk food less, which helped them lose more weight. The lower doses had some effect at first, but it didn't last as long as with the higher doses over those 48 weeks.

The Reta study had 24% weight reduction, not around 17%. This is important because it's the most effective drug so far, better than tirz (at 21%).

Tirz showed an average of 21% at 72 weeks, so it's not really fair to show Retatrutide's average as ~17% at 24 weeks when it went up to 24% at 48 weeks. Plus, the people in the study were still slimming down. What would the final % be if it went for 72 weeks?

I agree completely, but at the same time I don't see much value in comparing the numbers from trials - you have to dig deeper to make sure you're comparing similar things.

For me, Reta works better than both sema and tirz, but it's different for each person.

I still think people should start with Sema, then Tirz if Sema gives too many bad effects, then Reta if Tirz isn't great at appetite control or makes you feel tired.

Trying to find the absolute "best" medicine for losing the most weight super fast doesn't seem like the right approach for me. Just my opinion, though.

But this thread (and Minnie-the-Moocher's guide) is literally about comparing these peptides. If you think this whole discussion is invalid, that's fine, I guess(?). I just want to point out that the guide should be updated to say Reta caused ~24% loss at week 48, that's all.

Regarding the cost of some of these medications... I see that generic alternatives for some of the GLP-1 drugs may be available in Canada fairly soon. I saw one source saying they might be available this fall at a much reduced cost to the name-brand version. Could be good news for some!

It's crazy how much more some people pay for these meds in America! I saw someone from Australia saying they only pay a few dollars - is that real? I wish we could have prices like that!

Unfortunately, the cost of medications in the United States is a multifaceted issue, due to insurance structures, negotiations, and patent laws. It is not as simple as "voting for one party" as some may suggest.
