The doctor probably should've started at a moderate amount to rule out side effects, not the smallest option. Switching between different options in this drug class usually needs a higher amount and more time before results show. Makes sense starting higher given being maxed out on the previous medication, but personally would've leaned toward a lower starting point first. Good luck.
