GLP-1 first-timers: when did it kick in?

For those of you who have tried GLP-1s, about how long did it take before you started experiencing a change in your appetite? I just started back up at 1.5mg, one injection, and I'm curious when I should expect to feel different. What was your timeline?

I just injected 1mg yesterday morning. I think it's already doing something... I used to crave carbs non-stop. It's been much better. I'm still snacking when I am bored, but picking protein instead of sugars. If a tiny dose is already changing my choices, I'm hoping for big results soon!

My first ever shot was with a Mounjaro pen and I felt it almost immediately! It was like instantly quieting all the noise in my head. Then I started feeling a little rush. I could almost literally feel it traveling through my veins. I was nervous too I guess. Later, I learned that I might have been a hyper-responder to it. This meant I was able to stay on 2.5mg for a long time and more than a year later I am only on 5mg. I haven't tried any grey market tirz yet but hopefully will soon when my order arrives.

With reta.. hm. It took about 2 months to feel appetite suppression, and that was at 6mg. So I think I am a low responder for peptides and meds.

Oh, Tirz (actual Mounjaro) took a whole 5 weeks before I felt anything! I'm one of those people who always needs stronger doses, right now 15mg doesn't even do that much anymore...

It could be a placebo effect but I noticed it almost right away after injecting 1mg of Reta. Like, within a couple of hours. Even though it's such a low dose, I still get food cravings but they're WAY less intense. Plus, I get full much faster during meals. I did my first shot on Friday and added another .5mg on the following Monday. I'm still figuring out what works best for my body but I'm thinking 2mg might be my weekly dose. Maybe 1mg on Friday, and another 1mg on Monday or Tuesday.

When I started talking openly about using GLP-1, folks were really supportive. Didn't get any negative comments, just encouragement from everyone I mentioned it to.

If you're gaining weight and always hungry, check with your doctor to see if you're a good candidate for GLP-1 medications. If your insurance won't cover it, there are compounded forms available.
It's worth noting that constant hunger and 'food noise' can be a biological issue and not a personal failing. GLP-1s can really help quiet those signals so you can make better decisions.
