GLP-1 GI Distress: Am I Alone?

I'm having a rough time here at my job. I'm so nervous I might actually weep. Working with kiddos and the thought of an accident is terrifying. Any advice?

Oh man, you aren't alone. Early on, I had a similar incident while sleeping. Didn't feel a thing until it was too late. I'll probably remove this later out of embarrassment.

I'm on the other side of the spectrum. I'm so stopped up, I'm actually hoping for some relief!

The moment I feel a stomach rumble, I'm sprinting to the restroom! Being over 50 and still dealing with weight issues... it's a crummy situation.

I've experienced both extremes. The first time I used a GLP-1, I was constantly constipated. Needed to use stool softeners. This time, it's the opposite. The adverse reactions can be really something.

Ozempic actually cured my chronic diarrhea by making me constipated. Now that I'm back on thyroid meds because of problems with the first kind... guess I need to find the most pure form..

I can totally relate! If you're looking for gentle options, magnesium citrate might be worth a try. But be careful with stimulant laxatives; overuse can create other issues...

docs who titrate weekly instead of monthly are gonna get more phone calls and follow-ups. mine did that with tirz for everyone, and yeah the lower gi stuff hit hard but i didn't complain—we're both nuts about it. heartburn i had before? gone after the weight came off.

Studies show the worst GI stuff usually happens months 2-4 when you're titrating up. Lots of variation tho. Might ease up in a few months. PPI's short-term might help if there's stomach irritation, especially with reflux which is super common on these meds.
