GLP-1 gut issues anyone?

Tomorrow marks the start of week six, and my second injection of the 0.5 dose.

My weight has been hovering between 191 and 195. My goal weight is 140, but honestly, I'd be thrilled with 150 if I'm toned. Currently, I'm fluctuating between 186 and 188, hitting the gym three times a week and averaging 10,000 steps daily.

This is the first time I'm experiencing any side effects, and naturally, it hits me on a morning when I need to be at work early! I'm stuck in a real mess... I'm actually nervous about taking my next dose. 😳 Isn't constipation the usual complaint? lol... I definitely didn't see this coming... I might weigh 179 by the time I'm done here.

I don't really see much progress in my pics. Don't mind the mirrors; my kids turn into wild animals when they brush their teeth.

The grey pic is from this morning, and the black one is from six weeks ago.

Constipation isn't the only surprise — a week-by-week guide to GLP-1 side effects lays out the GI side effects by week so the next one doesn't blindside you.

I'm in a similar boat. Four weeks at 0.25 and two weeks at 0.50. I'm dealing with constipation and taking Metamucil. I'm down 18 pounds. You look great; keep up the good work!

I haven't shed as many pounds as you, only about 5, but I'm having the same digestive drama. No advice here, just letting you know you're not alone. I'm a bit frustrated because I haven't had a normal bowel movement in months, and I'm scared to increase my dose; I'm only on 0.25. You look amazing, though; there's definitely progress, even if you can't see it!

Stick with it. Take whatever you need for the diarrhea or constipation, and ask your doctor for an anti-nausea med if needed. You might feel super tired sometimes. Just keep going... the weight didn't appear overnight, and it'll take time to lose it.

Girl, one day I'm stopped up, and the next, I'm running to the bathroom. It's a completely wild ride, but I'm hoping it'll all be worth it in the end. 😬

I see a difference! You’re doing great!

I’m on Mounjaro now, but when I was on Ozempic and Trulicity, I had a lot of diarrhea and other issues.

I was supposed to take my shot on Sunday, but I was super gassy and overate a bit (less than I used to, though) at dinner, so I waited until Monday. Delaying it by a day isn’t a big deal.

I'm not sure what your current diet is, but adjusting mine has helped a lot with the side effects. I increased my protein and fiber intake and made sure to eat my carbs for lunch or breakfast instead of at night. Eating them at night, especially close to bedtime, really messes with my digestion and causes horrible heartburn. Once I made that change, the issues disappeared!

Hey @Clean-Gang, that's interesting about the timing of your carbs. I usually have mine at night. Maybe I should switch that up. Thanks!

I'm only a month and a half in at point .4mg and the nausea is just constant. I'm really hoping I'm not supposed to be this miserable? I drink a ton of water and take probiotics so I dont know what else to do...

Maybe you should try injecting in your thigh instead of your belly? I saw someone online mention it changed things dramatically for them!

I agree with @Clean-Gang, injection site can make a HUGE difference. Also, are you eating enough? I know it sounds crazy, but when I was barely eating the nausea was way worse. Try some clementines or dried prunes!

Anyone ever tried BPC peptide in tablet form? Figured it's probably weaker and more for gut repair versus muscle healing. Just wondering what folks' experiences are and where to grab some. Thanks ahead.

my sleep apnea was borderline — ahi at 14. before weight loss with my cpap on auto it was 1.25. quit the sleep clinic and set it myself after research. running 8–15 pressure and it works way better for me than auto did.
