GLP-1: Injection site + Costco finds?

About 18 days in... down around 3 pounds. I'm hoping this continues at a steady pace.

The first couple jabs in my abdomen made me super sick, even days after. Last shot I did in my upper leg and while I still feel the appetite, it's not as bad. I go up a little bit next month on the dose.

I'm thinking that I'll keep doing the thigh even if I get more appetite. Being able to function is the most important thing for me.

Any killer finds from Costco you'd recommend for someone on a GLP-1? Or anything that's made your journey easier that you'd like to share?

From Costco - the Premier Protein drinks. I have one daily. It really helps you get the protein you need, especially when your appetite is low!

Did you inject into the muscle itself? Or just pinch the fat on your thigh and go in there?

I stick to my thigh, almost always. I started back in the summer of 2024, and I've gotten rid of about 95 pounds. The few times I rushed and used my stomach, I felt awful for several days afterwards. It's a marathon, not a sprint, but for me, the thigh has been the best route.

Yeah those filters are solid - 13mm is right for 3ml vials. Sterile, good price at like 50 cents each, free shipping, shows up in 5 days. Hard to beat that.

I toss my sharps in an old pill bottle that has a childproof cap. Then I label it super clearly as 'SHARPS' and throw it out. Is that bad? Should I be doing something different?

Hey LongIslandLoz, throwing them in the regular trash is really risky, especially for sanitation workers. You might want to look into a proper sharps container. Some pharmacies even give them out for free!

Third dose and the needle-prick-after-removal is such a universal beginner moment. 3 lbs in 18 days at 0.25mg is a solid start and the injection site learning curve is real at first - abdomen tends to be forgiving for the first few doses. Sugar-free sour candy for the nausea is a legitimate tip if that becomes an issue as you move up doses.

Feeling healthy before and then feeling rough in those early days post-shot is a real trade-off that a lot of people don't anticipate. The expectation of feeling better immediately while losing doesn't match the early weeks experience for most people. It does typically settle - just later than expected.

28 lbs of core mass gained while down 30 lbs of fat over 8 years on Oz is one of the most interesting long-term body composition stories I've seen posted here. DEXA scanning across that period is the only way to actually track that data - the scale alone would tell you almost nothing useful.
