GLP-1 Injections: Morning, Evening, Food?

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for some input from people with experience using GLP-1 meds. I've seen lots of helpful comments here and there, and I'd like to consolidate some information related to a few questions:

1. Injection Timing: Any preference for injecting in the AM versus PM? What's the rationale?
2. Fasting: Inject on a full or empty stomach?
3. Injection Temperature: Let it warm up after removing from the fridge?
4. Splitting Doses: Better to split or stick with once weekly?
5. Starting Dose: Is it wise to start with 0.5mg split into 2 doses for the first 14 days before increasing to 1mg?
6. TRT Coordination: Inject Test and GLP-1 on the same day?

I'm a 37 year old male, 5'11", about 195lbs, pretty muscular. My aim is to drop around 15-20lbs and lower body fat. I track calories and macros, maintain a deficit, eat clean, and workout 5x/week. I'm hoping a GLP-1 will help me get over the plateau.

Thanks!

Just my experience, not a professional:

1. I split my dose, every 3-4 days, sometimes morning, sometimes evening. Doesn't seem to matter. But I do find it easier to remember to do it in the morning.
2. Makes no difference to me.
3. I inject it within a few minutes of taking it out of the refrigerator. It's worked fine so far.
4. I split my dose. You can see the difference in the levels if you use a GLP-1 calculator. This helps keep things even.
5. They started people at 4mg in the trials. I wouldn't do that because of side effects. I did 1mg for a couple of weeks, then 2mg, then adjusted based on how I felt. 1mg might be a good starting point.
6. No clue about TRT.

Here's my 2 cents.

1. Doesn't really matter, but maybe inject a day before your rest day, just in case you feel off.
2. Doesn't matter, I inject after my morning routine.
3. Tried both cold and room temp, doesn't seem to affect comfort much.
4. I dose split on Monday and Thursday. Appetite suppression drops for me after 2-3 days regardless what i try. Splitting can reduce side effects.
5. Start low until you know how you react.
6. Don't know about TRT.

Good luck!

Also, different injection sites have different absorption rates, abs being faster than thigh. Could be broscience, but I think it's noticeable.

Starting at 0.5mg might be too careful, could be hard to measure accurately, but it's up to you. Start low and only increase if you need to.

Hi!

I've been on Reta for 6 months and using it for cutting. Hope this helps!

1. No difference pinning early or late. Some pin before bed to avoid sides, but I'd rather be awake if something bad happens, like an allergic reaction. I've pinned morning, noon, and night with no difference.
2. Doesn't matter if you pin before or after eating. Also, I didn't notice effects until a day later. Other than the first week's energy.
3. I usually let it warm up before pinning. Makes no difference to my day, so I do it. I mean the pin, not the vial.
4. Single dose each week is fine. No proof splitting helps, and I don't need to. I pin on day 6 because the effects wear off. But day 6 or 7 is fine.
5. I can't say what dose to start at, but I started at 0.5mg per week, not split. I felt the effects, so I stuck with it for weeks before going to 1mg. Max was 4mg. It's not a race. Stay at a lower dose if you feel the effects. Saves money and reduces side effects.
6. Can't advise on TRT. Research TRT downsides. Mixing anything with a GLP is not advised. Reta doesn't mix well in the same vial/shot.

This is just my experience.

I also cut naturally before starting Reta. It's like cheat codes for cutting, so easy. But be careful not to cut too hard. I did and raised my SHBG levels, got fatigued, and now I'm going back to maintenance!

1) Timing - Doesn't matter for most. Be consistent and pick what fits your routine.

2) Fasting - Probably doesn't matter, but it's different for everyone. If you feel queasy, try the other way (fasted vs unfasted). I inject in the AM fasted because of my routine.

3) Temperature - Doesn't seem to matter. I've done both and don't notice any difference.

4) Splitting doses is like the toilet paper debate. People are passionate about both. Valid arguments exist for both. I don't split, but I don't dose based on appetite suppression. I've heard not splitting avoids hitting receptors as frequently. Some say the trials dosed weekly because it was convenient. Some split to manage sides and have consistent levels. Start with weekly, especially at low doses, since it's more convenient. If you get to higher doses and need to split, try it.

5) 0.5 mg is good to start. I did 0.25 mg for a week to test tolerance, then 0.5 mg for weeks. Some titrate fast, but I like to go low and slow and use the lowest effective dose. Keep in mind the 6 day half-life and use a GLP plotter to visualize that steady-state effects take 4-5 weeks at a dose.

No TRT advice. Good luck!

Right side abdominal for GLP, left for other stuff. Check the mirror for old marks and avoid them. Sub-q fat is mostly same so pick what's easy.

I'll answer these together.
Since GLP1 drugs are designed to last a week, it doesn't matter what time of day or what your fasting status is. The drugs will be working continuously.

Whatever you are comfortable with. I don't mind it cold, but it might bother others.

This is another personal preference. A single dose gives you a higher peak, and split doses give you a lower but more consistent level.

0.5mg of what? Don't increase faster than the schedule. Slower if you get side effects. Make sure you're having regular bowel movements.

I don't have experience with TRT.

I don't think timing matters. Yesterday morning I pinned .5mg BPC, 2mg Reta, and 40mg Test, no problem.

I wouldn't pin two shots in the same place at the same time. Seems like a stupid question.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant the same injection site in a rotation. Like, test on the left side of the abdomen and reta on the right side, around the same time, then alternate next time. Is that okay?

Just my experience and what I've read. Others might disagree.

1. GLP: Thursdays, in the evening. This gives me the weekend to deal with side effects, mainly GI problems that showed up within 2 days. When I was using something similar, I did that on Friday nights. Both were once weekly.

2. Accidentally, on an empty stomach. I pin before dinner.

3. Right out of the fridge while I'm prepping my sterile area.

4. Splitting doses isn't beneficial unless you're trying to reduce sides. I just let it do its thing and adjusted my habits.

5. I don't think there's a benefit to splitting. Starting low is like inoculation, which isn't bad with peps.

6. No input on TRT.

Test shuts your body's natural production down. Plan on a month or two to bounce back after stopping, and sometimes it doesn't return to where it was. I ran cycles young and my levels never fully recovered, wound up on TRT in my 40s. Not complaining but worth knowing. HGH at 2 units before bed helped my sleep tons. Skip food a couple hours before your night shot. Morning shots are different, some people avoid eating around those times too.

I try to space injection sites at least an inch apart, preferably 2. Avoid hairs, scars, stretch marks, or other "different" spots.

I try to inject same-day stuff in different areas so I can track reactions easier. I haven't had any so the method is weak.

I split doses, and I've written a lot about the math and my reasoning here.

Dosing is hard to recommend.

The other points don't matter.

Timing, fasted or not, and temp don't really matter. Splitting your dose is good to keep blood levels even and hunger down. 0.5 is a really small starting dose but if it works for you go for it.

Forgot to add on dosing, I'm switching from another GLP to Reta, I've moved up on Reta fairly fast. 1-2.5mg doses, checking my metrics, and figuring out if I need to increase.

If I knew what I know now starting from scratch, I'd start with 1mg, go half a week and see how I respond.

Anyone else get the chills? Ever since I started, I'm always cold! I've had to buy a bunch of new sweaters and warm socks. It's weird, I used to run hot all the time.

Injection-grade BA's not that hard to find in the EU. Got mine from the Netherlands—easy to order, starts at 100ml, lasts years before oxidizing. Made my own bac water with sterile injection water from Germany for pennies. Everything mixed crystal clear.
