GLP-1: June '25 to Now

Stats: 36, Started at 229 lbs, now 165, ideal weight 140. Began injections early June. Cravings vanished instantly. Oddly, I quit biting my nails, and the pounds just melted. Since December, the scale's barely budged--down maybe 5 lbs. It feels less effective now; I'm on 1 mg. Grateful, truly, but it's weird. Had major health stuff in December (surprise pregnancy, miscarriage, blood transfusion, D&C, and I'm now super anemic). Been hitting the gym; losing weight fixed loads of health issues. Traveling abroad for 2 weeks next month. Don't want to lug my meds, worry about TSA, etc., but scared not to have 'em.

Thrilled with my progress, but still aiming lower. Plus, I'm battling emotional junk because the scale won't cooperate and I feel like I'm failing.

Thanks for posting! Quick reminder: Only discuss FDA-approved formulations. No selling/offering meds, even privately. Don't answer shady PMs offering meds--we don't endorse them.

Totally get that feeling! Sounds like your body needs a breather, though. Whenever I plateau, I focus on strength training and body recomposition! I get excited when my weight goes up a little, because it means I’m eating enough (went from 240 to 145 in 18 months--lost about 75 in the first year and have slowed it down to work on body recomp and skin elasticity).

Maybe your body has found its happy place. I was around 135 most of my life, but marriage, menopause and divorce took a toll. I'd be thrilled with 145-150; that's my goal now, down from 200. Currently at 188, just started GLPs because progress was glacial (a year and a half for only 12 lbs lost). If you've already faced health scares, maybe stay where you are? It's okay to adjust your goals; listen to your body, not your mind. It'll signal when it's content. Great job!! Keep it up ;)

Fantastic! Your journey so far is incredible. Give yourself props and don't stress the small stuff. Just keep going one day at a time. It's not a race.

Not yet - had to push most stuff back, mots-c probably hitting in May or June now. Planning to start a few other things sooner and share updates once I jump in.

I'm so sorry for your loss [emoji] I went through a missed miscarriage and D&C in December, too, and it really messed with my system. They say hormones take 4-6 weeks to stabilize, but I read that women often feel off for 2-3 months afterward. I'm convinced those fluctuations and sudden shifts directly impact how well the meds work. Don't forget that this slowdown doesn't erase your progress; your weight loss IS goals!! Be kind to yourself & allow for extra grace; your body can only handle so much. And enjoy your trip!! Feeding your soul is crucial right now, too.

Maybe it's time to explore other options? Have you looked into peptides?
I've heard of them, but honestly, I'm a little intimidated. Any specific ones you'd suggest looking into?

I feel like my weight loss has really stalled this past year, even though I'm on a good dose. It's still important to see how far you've come @Lean_AF. Even if the scale isn't moving as fast, the progress is real.
