GLP-1: My journey & beyond!

Beginning stats: 174.5 lbs. Current: 134.5 lbs. Goal: around 135 lbs.

I titrated down very slowly, staying at 2.5mg for three doses before starting to taper. For the past 6 weeks, I've been injecting 1mg every two weeks, gradually weaning off completely (fingers crossed!). I've incorporated weight training 4 times a week, overhauled my diet with mindful portions, curbed my sugar cravings, and boosted my activity levels significantly.

I began this journey without a clear destination, and now, nearly 40 pounds lighter, I've experienced a profound mental shift regarding food and exercise. This medication has truly revitalized me! I feel more energetic than ever before, even surpassing my teenage and young adult years! I'm back to being the fun aunt, actively playing and running with the kids. I'm eager to embrace new experiences... My aspiration is to return here next year, boasting increased muscle mass, sustained weight loss, and some fresh workout gear!

Wishing everyone a prosperous 2025, and remember to approach it one day at a time.

You look great! The weightlifting definitely sculpted your physique. I'm about to increase my dose to 1.7mg. I feel like my weight loss is progressing a little slower than I'd prefer.
But I always remind myself that slow and steady gets the job done! I was already doing weightlifting before starting this med. Hopefully, it will help me retain muscle mass.

Wow, you look fantastic and so toned! I've achieved a similar amount of weight loss, but my physique doesn't reflect it the same way.

Looks like I need to incorporate strength training this year 💪.

OMG, I started around the same time with a similar weight! I've been doing Pilates almost daily. I started at 178 and I'm now at 130. I know I'm in a healthy range, but I want to get down to maybe 120 lol. Congrats!

Thanks everyone for the kind words! To answer some questions about maintaining... I'm trying to taper off slowly while focusing on building healthy habits. It's definitely a learning process, and I'll keep you all updated on my progress!

I started titrating very slow, got to 2.5mg for 3 shots and started tapering down. I have been taking a 1mg shot every two weeks for the last month and a half as I taper myself back down to *hopefully* none.
Tirz-Go that's a great approach! I'm a bit scared to come off completely, so it's inspiring to see your success. Any tips for dealing with cravings when lowering the dose?

I totally get that! I'm down about 30 lbs, but I think I should start some kind of exercise routine. I'm thinking walking first and see where that gets me.
