GLP-1 shot and vacay?

Hey, I'm going on a trip and my weekly injection is due right after I leave. I'm kinda new to this and worried about feeling sick while traveling. Should I take half my dose a day early for the travel week? Just skip it and start again when I get back? Or take the whole dose a day early? Scared of side effects, especially on the plane! Help!

If I were you, I'd probably just inject a day early. I've also traveled before with my dose already drawn into a syringe because my injection day fell during the trip. Either way should be fine, just make sure you're keeping everything sanitary if you preload!

Hey! I totally feel you. I'd say just keep to your normal schedule and don't change it up. Better safe than sorry, especially on a plane. Hope you have an awesome trip!

I travel constantly for work and I always stick to my schedule. I started last year and went to Germany a few days later. I'd actually forgotten I'd even taken the shot! It was great. Took my second shot while I was gone and noticed I wasn’t eating as much and getting full quicker. Still enjoyed all the food, just smaller portions. Stick with the schedule, these meds are all about consistency!

Have a great trip!

Get an insulated case to keep the meds cold. You can grab one online. I've got a really great one!

I recently went away for like, ten days, and the nurse at my clinic told me to just skip my dose and enjoy my time off, so that's what I did.

Traveling while taking this med is totally doable once you sort a few things out. The medication itself is fine, just try to keep it cool (most hotels can help with that, or it's okay at room temp for almost a month if needed). Security allows it in your carry-on since it's a medical injection. The real trick is hydration, because GLP-1s reduce your thirst, and flying makes you dehydrated. You might feel awful if you're not constantly drinking water, even when you don't feel thirsty.

To help with electrolytes, I use these little unflavored drops that are easy to slip into a bag. Also, plan for an unpredictable appetite and bad food choices at airports. Pack some snacks (like protein) so you're not stuck with nothing. If you're crossing time zones, stick to your home schedule until you're settled, then adjust gradually. Most find travel is fine once they know what to expect.

I wouldn't skip or change the dose too much. Either keep your usual day, or go a day early. In my experience, a day or two on either side hasn't made me feel better or worse. But when I skipped a dose or adjusted it, I felt bad when I got back.

I went backpacking the day after my second shot ever. Maybe it was a dumb idea in hindsight, lol. Was a bit worried, but it was fine. It was challenging trying to figure out how much to eat with a different appetite. But for once, I was glad to be a little constipated lol.

Thanks for all the advice, everyone! I think I'll stick to taking it a day early. Reassured that a day or two won't mess with the routine too much.

That's a valid concern, especially when you're first starting out.

The first few weeks can be the most variable when it comes to side effects, so it makes sense that you wouldn’t want to experiment right before a flight. Changing the timing or adjusting doses on your own can sometimes make things feel less predictable.

It's best to talk to your doctor before changing anything. It's often okay to make a small change, but it should be based on your situation.

Hey @Heart_Queen! I totally get the anxiety about side effects on a trip. When I started, I was super worried, but honestly, sticking to my regular routine was the best. Maybe just plan for some easily digestible snacks and anti-nausea meds, just in case?

These drugs push GLP levels way higher than natural bodies ever hit. That small hunger taste is nothing compared to full withdrawal. Spreading to monthly dosing would let normal variation back in but thats rare.

I've heard some people do really well staying on a low dose. I've seen people say the lowest effective dose is best. If you're still seeing results, maybe ask your doctor about sticking with the lower dose, might help with side effects on your trip!

Jumping into HGH, got a 24 IU vial. How much BAC water to reconstitute with? What's the dosing schedule and timing for pins? Need the guidance. Thanks y'all.

Lost 105lbs naturally over the last year with daily ADHD meds but was gaining weight before on the same dose, so the meds didn't make it happen. Started this med once I hit the slowing-down phase to maintain. Not looking back.
