GLP-1 shots every 5 or 6 days?

I've been injecting tirzepatide every 6 days, but some weeks I feel like I need it on day 5. Does it matter if I take it on day 5 one week and day 6 the next if needed?

Tirz has a half-life of about 5 days, so most people inject every 5 days. If you wait an extra day, you'll have around 40% of the dose left in your system. It might seem small, but that one day could make a big difference. It's really about figuring out what works best for your body. Switching between day 5 and 6 shouldn't matter as long as you listen to your body.

Some weeks, waiting the 6 days is fine, but not this week. Looks like I'll take it tomorrow instead of Wednesday. Thanks for explaining it so clearly!

I've done both 5 and 6 days depending on my dosage. When I was on 10mg, but not ready for 12.5mg, I went to every 5 days. Then back to every 6 at 12.5mg. I like to change things up to keep my body guessing! 😉

So, you're doing a total of 17mg per week? What was your dose increase schedule? I know some people go higher than the max dose, and they're testing 20mg and 25mg, I'm curious about your reasons and process.

Studies show tirzepatide can become less effective over time. Its impact on weight loss diminishes a lot after about a year. I've lost around 70lbs in 48 weeks. I increased my dose by just over 1mg each month, aiming for at least one pound lost per week. Someone else did 15mg every 5 days for 8 months near the end of their program, which is like 19mg a week. That's my new goal, to get there in a couple months. I still need to lose about 35lbs. I've also started adding protein shakes. I'm stacking with other peptides, but staying with tirzepatide for now because it's keeping me on track. As more study results come out, I might increase to 25mg a week eventually, increasing by 1mg a month. That's my plan. Minimal side effects, no exercise, and my blood work is better than it was 40 years ago.

Funny, I did that with his doses, and it showed slightly lower peaks and slightly higher valleys. It's a great tool with sometimes surprising results. Good call on sharing!

I agree with Kim_12, the plotter is useful, but not perfect. There are other factors it doesn't calculate. I mostly use it to visualize half-life over time.

I saw a post on Reddit where someone lost about 80 pounds in 10 months. They said they ate mostly protein and did cardio 4-5 times a week. They're trying to decrease their dose now. Makes me wonder if I should incorporate more cardio.

That's awesome progress for them! Don't feel pressured to do exactly what they did, though. Find what works for you. If cardio is something you enjoy, go for it!

It's also okay to stay on a low dose that is effective. I read a thread where someone was asking about Ozempic and staying on a small dose because of side effects. The consensus was that the lowest effective dose is key.
