GLP-1 Success: Habits > Meds?

I've been using Tirzepatide on and off since around March '25, usually in cycles of about 10-12 weeks. So far, I'm down maybe 65 pounds since I started, and a total of around 95 pounds from my peak weight. The best part's been the lifestyle changes, though.

During the breaks, the weight's stayed off—even dropped a little more. It's because the medication helped me finally get into habits that never stuck before:

* My eating's totally different now.
* I lift weights 3 days a week.
* I'm way more conscious of when I'm full, how much I'm eating, and why I'm eating.

It's not a magical weight-loss shot. If you don't make good habits while you're taking it, the weight will probably come back. For me, it's been life-changing—not just because of the weight loss, but because I'm finally living like a healthy person. Anyone else cycle or come off and have similar experiences?

Sounds like you're using it the right way! A tool to help you get healthy, not a quick fix. Clearly, you're making the effort, and that's fantastic.

I've lost about 210 pounds total and feel great. I actually enjoy exercise now and love being active. It feels like my life has been given back to me. I know I NEVER want to go back to where I was, and I'll work to make sure I don't, whether I'm on meds or not. I wish you the best on your journey! You're crushing it!!

Huge congrats!!! You look fantastic!

I've been going to the gym on and off for years but always struggled with emotional eating. These meds have helped me deal with my relationship with food and build healthier habits. I'm almost 100lb down (about 45 before GLP-1s and 55 since January '25) and switched to a different brand because of pricing. Keep up the amazing work and send gym tips if you have any! I'm always looking for motivation 🤣

what made you decide to cycle your Tirzepatide?

Good question. It mainly comes down to managing tolerance and cost. I've found that taking breaks helps keep the medication effective, and it saves some money too. Plus, it forces me to rely on the habits I've built, which is a good test to make sure they're really sticking.

tricky to isolate the meds from all the habit changes i made when i started. could be the medication, could be the yoga and exercise, could be feeling better overall about my health. probably a combination.
