i haven't really found a vendor i'm loyal to. had one i was looking at last year but they disappeared, along with a few others. the ones still around have issues—one has sketchy customer service, and the warehouse options either charge shipping or have limited stock.
 
The forum's Lab section has more detailed conversation about sourcing and product options - you need to build up your post count a bit to get access there but it's the right place for those questions.
 
Running a quiz and comparison site while participating in forum discussions is a good way to triangulate what people actually need versus what gets clicks. The Lab section access requirement is designed to keep the more technical discussions in the right context. What's the format on the site and does it pull from different communities or mostly here?
 
The 'I thought I understood and was so wrong' experience when you actually start digging into peps is so common. The forum jumping in the beginning trying to piece it all together from different communities is how most people get there. Taking your time with it and letting the learning build gradually beats trying to absorb everything at once.
 
the community scale argument is real - the reporting patterns that emerge from a large active base create a kind of distributed quality signal that individual users can't produce on their own. when problems with specific practices or standards become visible at that volume, the response tends to shift faster than any single complaint would produce
