GLP-1s from...where now?

The original GLP-1 receptor agonist, like 2 decades back, was derived from the saliva of a Gila monster, exendin-4.

Right, I know that was exenatide which is like generic Byetta/Bydureon.

But the *newer* GLP-1s weren't, right? They were just...inspired by that research? Gila monster juice!

I mean...is this news to anyone else? I thought everyone knew the first one came from lizard spit.

This is where it all started, which is used by many Instagram trainers to shock people. Most of those trainers have never dealt with the underlying disease of obesity. They're just trying to sell their apps.

Artificial vanilla flavoring used to come from beaver anal glands, and some still does. Carmine (red food coloring) comes from bugs. Some skin products use placenta, foreskin, or even salmon sperm. That's why you don't want to know how the sausage is made.

If a trainer told me that lizard saliva would make me not be fat, I would have gone straight to the exotic animal trade and gotten one myself. Me and Mr. Spittles would be living the high life right now.

I actually looked up Gila monsters and it turns out Mr. Spittles would need his own secure room for safety reasons. Their bites aren't usually deadly to humans or cats, but they're supposed to be incredibly painful!

The research is based on the initial finding in Gila monster saliva, but the peptides are made in labs. It wasn't a weird question; it just wasn't worded very clearly.

There are some variations out already, you can find them on a telegram channel. I've seen some of the same types of labels on different forums.
